Met Gary Suson the founder of the Museum at St Pauls Chapel near Ground Zero. He informed us of the Museum and its continuing popularity. We were so glad as it was one of the highlights of our trip to New York, and will last with us forever. He has created an intimate Museum which is small in area but huge in spirit and full of compassion. The tour lasts up to two hours and it was a very humbling experience. Would highly recommend.

Myself and four other co-workers were priviledged to visit the Ground Zero Museum a few weeks ago. It was a very emotional and knowledgeable experience. We all felt the very same way. It was so interesting hearing all the stories and seeing the actual photos from the actual event. It made you feel like you were almost actually experiencing the event yourself. Our hearts went out to all the families who lost loved ones. We had kind of forgot all the devastation and terror that happened, however the museum helped us to remember once again all the facts. I am so glad we were able to see such amazing artifacts and photos. We would highly recommend that you think about visiting the museum and then go out to the actual site. You will have a greater understanding and appreciation for the event. Thank you to everyone who put together such a wonderful memorial. Kimberly Roberts-Texas

My sister and I found out about the museum online and decided to take our teenage daughters. We were a little surprised about how small the museum was but after experiencing it, we were so glad we went. I don't think anyone who goes will be disappointed. It was an emotional and a very personal place to visit.

A very touching tribute

My son is only thirteen so we thought it important to expose him to the facts of what happened on 9/11. I really appreciated the whole atmosphere of this tiny little museum. They did not sensationalize, they simply told the story through pictures and artifacts with dignity and respect for those lost and their families. It is a "go at your own pace" audio tour which I loved. They only allow a certain number of people because of the small space. I appreciated it very much.

An informative & moving experience

It was a great experience, learning about Ground Zero and the aftermath of 9/11. The focus was on getting New York and Ground Zero back on its feet, not dwelling too much on the actual attack. I think that is the only right approach, it's a positive message. Through stories about the firemen, you can empathize with them and have a greater understanding about what it was like for them. Moving & emotional, but always positive. I highly recommend it.

Very small, but very interesting. With pictures of the events of Sept 11th. Each picture tells a story of personal experience during that fateful day. This museum is a moving tribute to the brave men and women who courageously worked to save anyone they could while the towers came down. It also shows the tremendous efforts taken to find any and all remains of the victims of that horrific terrorist attack.

Recent visit to Ground Zero Museum Workshop

This small but initmate museum collection is vital to the memory of the events that occured on 9th September. The horrific encounters, the enormity of the rescue and emotional and physical toll on human life is provided from a sensitive yet true perspective. The hardships endured by these rescuers and of course the photograher can not be understood, but this photograhpic display and the artifacts provided us with some sense of the daily hardships, the commitment of the rescuers, the long term effects on so many peoples lives and so many countries around the world. The clock, the glasses, the brothers and even the rescue dogs all tell their own sad stories. Thank you for this thoughtful display - the recovery from this day will continue to be a long hard road. Let us not forget but let us forgive and live in harmony with each other.

I didn't know what to expect with the exhibit/museum but I couldn't believe how wonderful it turned out to be. First our tour guide was fantastic. She has a lot of information and was very helpful. All the items in the museum were amazing. Each picture brought me closer to the people involved in 9/11. Because I live in the west coast I didn't imagine I would feel so emotional about the WTC but in fact I felt closer than I had previously had. It really did give me hope and believe people are good in the midst of tragedy. Since coming back all of us in the group have raved about how fantastic it was and have recommended to all our friends.

Humbling Experience

My 12 year old son and I, along with 2 of his friends and mothers went to this museum on a day trip to NYC. The boys were only 5 on 9/11 and felt this was a way to remind them all about that tragic day. They were unsure of going, but we dragged them along. They were glad they came along, and felt the experience was worthwhile. It is a place that everyone should visit at some point in their lives.

Our group included husband and myself, daughter(22) and son(14). We loved the entire Workshop, and especially appreciated the small and intimate setting the tour was given in. The highlight of the tour was Gary himself who happened to be there that day. His personal connection to the events and the photos taken made a permanent impression on all of us. Thank you, Gary.

Dont' Miss This One -Well Worth the Time!

It was unexpected because we actually thought we booked the tour at the WTC site, instead we went to the Meatpacking District to an out of the way second floor studio. When we realized we misunderstood, we were somewhat anxious. But what an unexpected surprize. SO WORTH THE TIME! I have already told many friends around the country. This is truly one of Manhattan's best kept secrets. It is an educational tour, a very personal tour and an extremely moving tour! And No walking needed except around the room. Gary Suson has given himself through his hundreds of photographs and collection of artifacts so that the visitor feels what he felt, sees what he saw and walks away with a real understanding of what it was like from September 11th, and throughout the following year. I love the way he has allowed the visitor to tour at his own pace and spend as much time as you want with each photo or artifact. It is a great idea to have the earsets and the flexibility to aim the remote in any order you wish to hear his own words as he felt and saw it, each day. He basically lived with the rescuers day in and day out and the visitor gets to share and be a part of that experience. And if it gets too emotional, they always remind you that there are "anti-depressant chocolates in the restroom" :-) I will definitely go back as will my friends..... Kathy Ruffing, Slippery Rock, PA

When we bought the tickets to the museum, I didn't know what to expect. Then when I saw all the pictures and artifacts from the recovery, I was so sad to see closer up what those people went through on the day of the attack on the towers and the recovery efforts afterwards. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. It's a must see so that we will never forget what happened on that day. I thought our tour guide Lauren was great and knowledeable. We actually got to meet Gary Marlon Suson in person. That was very special since he said he's not usually there to give tours anymore. Thank you for the hospitality and for the opportunity to share your memories. We will never forget 9/11. Sincerely, Gary and Michelle Robbins
