| Very well thought out, carefully put together, and really made going to the WTC site much more meaningful. At the actual site you cannot see much with all the barricades and draped fencing around the perimeter. It was almost impossible to figure out where the buildings once stood even though we had visited them several times in the past. We did not see written stories or many displays around this very active construction site. My group did not lose a loved one on 9/11, yet really appreciated the opportunity as fellow Americans, to spend special time learning more about that day, entering the time zone of 9/11 and feeling more a part of it, touching a bit of it, and paying respect to all those our hearts have poured out to over the past 8 years. There are comfortable sofas for anyone who wants or needs to sit and view the pictures and artifacts from them and listen to an audio tape explaining each one. The room was small enough that someone sitting on the sofas or in a wheelchair would have adequate access to the pictures/memorabilia mainly hanging on the walls. There were individual audio units to listen to stories about each of the 100+ exhibits. If you are hearing impaired, the video is not captioned and the audio players are not conducive even to those with mild losses. They are not set up with telecoil/induction loop/infra red systems, but you can request a written transcript which is very helpful. If this is the case, I would advise extra time which you might be allowed if you are the last session of the day (1pm?) (that's what we did so my hearing impaired daughter had more time to read the transcript). Dress cool in the summer months as it gets a bit warm in that room, and I highly recommend visiting this wonderful exhibit if you can. | ||||||

| I'm glad I checked out this gem whilst in New York. I was only young when 9/11 happened, but recently I've felt compelled to go there and pay my respects. This tour was informative and in good taste. The guide was very approachable, and only too happy to answer any questions that we had. I would definitely stop by again on my next trip to New York, and I'll be recommending it to any of my friends that visit NYC. | ||||||

| When you first walk into the Ground Zero Museum Workshop, you're not sure if you just wasted your money. That's because it's very small with lots of pictures you may have seen before. But, once you put the headphones on for the audio tour, you realize there's a fascinating story behind each one of these pictures. We went to the actual Ground Zero site the day after, and it was nowhere near as descriptive, emotional, or interesting as this little museum. Definitely make this a stop if you're interesting in 9/11. My mom and I went together and we couldn't stop talking about all of the stories. Although the subject matter is obviously heavy, the museum focuses on hope and remembrance. It's easy to brush the events aside or to not remember the actual lives that were effected. Once we remove ourselves from the emotional connection to the people involved in the event, we desensitize ourselves. That's a scary place to be. People, not buildings, planes, and terrorists, were involved in 9/11 - people with names, families, and lives. Don't forget them! | ||||||

| Hard to describe in words. There is so much to take in that it takes a couple days to process it all. This Museum is put on by the official photographer for the World Trade Center site. They only allowed one person to take photographs. Gary has definitely put his heart into this and you get to see so many of the courageous men and women who gave their lives for the benefit of others. They use the proceeds to help families who have lost loved ones and also to help pay for medical bills of the workers who helped clean up the site that now are having medical problems from the fumes that they were exposed to. One of the best things to do in NYC hands down! | ||||||

| This one site, this one memorial, this one intimate setting was all I needed to experience a small piece of 9/11. My sister, my 9yr old son, and I had no idea what we were about to experience the day was visiting Ground Zero Workshop. We were on vacation and had second thoughts about anything entitled "workshop", especially 2 hours. We had a pack that we would bail out after an hour. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to experience such emotions, sorrow, intimacy with the victims families, rescue workers, let alone, meet Gary Susson himself. I was so filled with emotion that I could barely speak, I just patted him on the back and walked away. The photos, this special place SHOULD NOT BE MISSED AND WAS TRULY THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR VISIT TO NEW YORK. That same day, we visited the actual site as well as St. Paul's Chapel but I have to say, nothing compared to our experience at the Ground Zero Workshop. When we returned to Sacramento, we met a couple who had traveled to New York and had visited the museum. We all shared a secret, it felt like, a commonality that brought us all closer to that tragic day. Our experience will never be forgotten... | ||||||

| This excellent museum was a highlight of our visit to the city, tastefully and thoughtfully presented, and worthwhile to increase one's understanding of the incident aftermath. While many of us saw the tragedy happen in real time, the clean-up was only seen in bits and pieces due to the lengthy time involved. Gary helped bring closure to all that. One bit of confusion... I could not figure out why you call it a "workshop." Please note that after a lifetime of developing, producing, and presenting workshops, the visit to your facility was just not a workshop. I almost skipped the visit due to the fact that I did not want to be in a traditional "workshop" setting. Also note that my comment should not in any way be construed as a negative. This is a worthwhile stop for anyone. Thanks. | ||||||

| My husband and I found this tour to be very tastefully done in a compelling way that took us both back to that day in 2001. Emotions of compassion and reverence for the victims, the workers and our country were felt. We had a small child with us; and I believe that the stories told, artifacts and images are appropriate to share with children and were NOT exploitive in ANY WAY. There were NO images of any of the victims nor of the planes. Major news networks shared graphic images back on that day in 2001 that you WILL NOT see here; and I applaud the Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour for taking their responsibility to provide a respectful exhibit seriously. We are very glad that we made this stop on our travels- and thank you for sharing the Ground Zero Museum Tour with us! | ||||||

| When we first arrived to the outside of the museum in the meat packing district, we didn't think it looked like much and we thought perhaps we overspent for tickets on something that may be minimal for viewing. We even wondered how a two hour tour was going to be utilized fully for one room of items. HOWEVER, we were so wrong. It started with a video with phone call recordings from individuals at WTC and images post incident taken by the artist, Gary Suson. The tour is a self-guided audio tour that brings each visitor to every photograph and artifact on display. Each nook and cranny and portion of wall space is occupied with images and artifacts that tell a very emotional and potent story that will bring tears to your eyes. It was a good experience for my children who were just babies when the incident occured. It was even a good experience for my husband and myself as we were able to feel the emotions of what photograph or item was intended to convey. We were able to learn about specific individuals involved in the rescue efforts which personalized them as individuals who were just downtrodden and weary from what they had to endure. Seeing the artifacts from the WTC restaurant and gift shop or even items found in the debris just made it even more emotional. Again, it is a small museum but don't be fooled by size. It is a wealth of information and personalization of those involved with 9-11 that you didn't get in the news. You leave very humbled. The artist and the gentleman who hosted the tour were sensitive and informative individuals. We highly recommend it and it's definitely worth the cost for admission. | ||||||

| My sister and I were in NYC for a few days. We had been to the Ground Zero site many times through the years to view the progress. We were searching online for things to do while in the City and came across this museum. We could not have been happier that we decided to go. This museum was very tastefully done with great respect given to the victims and survivors. It is a totally different picture of 9/11 than you have probably ever seen before. Very healing experience! The photographer, Gary Suson, even made a surprise visit at the end of our tour. Go...you won't be disappointed! | ||||||
