Moving experience

Overall the small museum provided a great perspective focused on the recovery process at ground zero. The photos were exceptional, and the stories behind them provided a personal view of the experience. The museum was primarily photography; however there were several artifacts from ground zero that provided an additionally chilling experience.

my wife and i took our 8 yr old son and 5 yr old son. tastefully done so that my boys could be there, learn, and not have nightmares. GREAT job, Suson. on the negative side, we did have our vehicle towed b/c we parked in an area that wasn't clearly marked.

I think this is something that everyone should do and see. We watched on television but to actually go to the museum and hear the stories, touch remnants from the towers, etc just really helps you to understand the gravity of what happened on 9/11. I recommend it to everyone and pray we "Never Forget".

Lest we forget.....

We Americans have a tendancy to forgive & forget....all to soon! Gary has done a great job of documenting 9/11. Although the displays are super, I recommend you take a few minutes to look at his book which is for sale. It contains many more photos that are not on display at the museum.

Definitely worth a visit

Very well done and tasteful. The small intimate setting was ideal. One thing I will note (without opinion) is that the museum has a significant religious tone to it. Heavier on the side of Chrisitanity.

hi dont let the Size of the museum alter/change your intentions!! It is the equivalant of a studio apt. of sorts!! the tour lasts 30 mins. Complete with the audio 'tour' included... Very Powerful!! as only few could recall upon this tragic time!! a bit difficult to find,,, yet the web page does help w accurrate directions... i live just outside of chicago!! and it's Defintely worth the $25!!! REMINDER!! IT IS NOT NEAR GROUND ZERO!!!! That memorial 'museum' is good yet 1/2 the price,, and 1/4rth the Intensity!! i specifically came to new york to see Ground Zero plus a couple of other things.... THIS MUSEUM MADE MY TRIP!! i took the subway!! so all some time yet Enjoy! J.R. Ambrosia

Touching reminder of what we should not forget

Both touching and emotional, the museum was a great reminder of what we should never forget. My husband is a firefighter, and it was wonderful to take him to the Ground Zero Museum. Though compact, the museum is filled with many memories and stories — stories of men and women who risked their lives for others, and who worked to honor those who had fallen. Suson, the photographer and founder of the museum, pushed past his own inhibitations and documented a tragedy that showed the US how strong we really are, and brought us all together. Be prepared to be emotional...and remember.

Such a sad moment in US history was showed and explained with respect and realism to the victims. I believe that this could be increase since I am sure there are lots of photograpic material to show.

UNKOWN EFFECTS OF 911

we have visited ground zero once before, in 2007 but did not know about this museum. we found info about thru ttheir web-site. we booked in advance and were pleasantly supprised at how intimate and non-touristy this museum is. we were deeply touched thru the 2 hrs. we spent there. we read every and listened to every picture and artifact. this museum gives a whole different look at 911. it shows thru the eyes of people that were there and not just what our government wanted us to know. we will recommend this to anyone that visits nyc. thanks again,,, robert & julia

A moving and informative experience

Don't be fooled by the size of this "museum" when you enter - I passed nearly two full hours there. The audio tour takes you through the photographer's recollections of the photographs as he took them, the stories behind the people in them, and the descriptions of the various artifacts. It gives an amazing depth and context to the experience, and the time simply flies. If you are visiting New York and want a meaningful experience to remember 9/11 and pay tribute, make it this museum. My only slight criticism is the very heavy religious overtones, which didn't sit well with my personal values and beliefs - but this is a very personal exhibition, and I respect whatever helped to get people through this appalling time.

Very Meaningful

This museum is excellent. It is very small and intimate. The gentleman who narrated parts of the museum was very knowledgeable and sincere. The pictures and artifacts are very nice and not at all grim. No pictures of body parts for example. We enjoyed ourselves very much and came away with much new knowledge of the 9-11 incident. Thank you very much for the opportunity to praise this museum to the public.

This museum workshop was intimate and honored those who lost their lives or their families on 9/11. It brought the reality of the World Trade Center losses to life in a touching and memorable way. I highly recommend this.
