| I wasn't sure what to expect and taking a 10 and a 13 yr old I was a bit nervous. I needn't have worried, all of us were captivated by Gary's stories and recollections of events you couldn't begin to imagine. It was emotional but never mawkish or maudlin. Our children have always been interested in the 9/11 story and the museum really brought it home to them that it was real and not just a film on TV in a way that the Ground Zero site itself never could have. Its hard to describe the visit as a highlight of our holiday but it was definitely one of the most memorable. Julie, Edinburgh. | ||||||

| I brought my 18 yr old nephew to New York City for the weekend, as a gift to him for making Eagle Scout. This was the first, and most important of our expereiences while in New York. We were very lucky to be in the tour that Gary led and it was a very moving, very meaningful experience. This truly brought 9/11 up come and personal and made us appreciate even more the firefighters, police officiers, rescue personnel and all others involved in this horrific incident for the USA. I will recomment this to everyone I know who ventures to New York City, whatever their purpose -- they MUST take time out and go to this museum. My sister and I are planning our 3rd seasonal trip to NYC this spring (to date, we have made the summer trip, 2003; our winter trip, 2005 and now the spring trip will be 2008). The VERY first thing i will plan on the iteniary will be this museum! Thank you Gary for making this the best and most personal thing to do in NYC -- a must see for every Amercian citizen -- WE WILL NEVER! FORGET Bee Shelton, Kingsport Tn | ||||||

| It was suggested to us to visit the museum before going to ground zero, so this is what we did. The stories told were heartfelt, informational, and was done in a very tasteful manner. It helped to experience the museum first so when you got to ground zero, you could better understand what took place there. There were so many stories told about so many people, even the dogs used in the rescue efforts had stories. It was an amazing witness to 9-11 and the aftermath. The artifacts collected were neat , as well, especially the page from the Bible. It was great to be able to view all these things on display. The photography was awesome. | ||||||

| We were fortunate to have the Photographer there, who gave a more personal touch to the stories behind the pictures. It is "a dimond in the ruff "as they say. It is a much needed shelter for family members to heal, to remember, to share, and a more positive way for those of us who need to know what it was like to help carry the load. It was an emotional highlight. Thank you. | ||||||

| We are from Amsterdam, came with sun of 13 years, very impressive small museum which gave a great impression of the things happened at 9/11 and the period thereafter. Strongly recommended. Takes about 1,5 hours without a moment of boring. | ||||||

| My husband is a Houston Firefighter and we visited on Oct.12th 2007. He was unable to talk to Gary from the lump in his throat although my conversation with him was priceless. The whole tour left a hard impression on me that I won't forget. I am gratefull for the opportunity to be even closer to the facts and the reality of the loss suffered. We were honored to be able to give some money to the museum and to go home with Gary"s book. I now have specific images in my mind as I prayfor these firefighters and families. | ||||||

| I can't even begin to tell you how much you really need to visit this museum. I went w/my husband and 2 teenage daughters and we were all captivated by it all. We were fortunate enough to have Gary be our guide since he had given his staff the week off! Having him there made it all even more worthwhile. We were able to hear his heart and feel his emotion as he talked about various things from his experiences. It is obvious how special, yet overwhelming, this project is to him. Like I told him, we all wish we could have been there after 9/11 to help and to share in all that was going on, to feel w/our hearts and w/our hands, and to feel as if there were something we could do. This exhibit took us directly to Ground Zero and it makes you feel as if you are a part of the recovery family and also causes you to put real emotions and artifact w/what we could only see on TV or view in a newspaper. Excellent, excellent...I can't say enough. Make every effort it takes to get to the museum and you will be touched for a lifetime. | ||||||

911 Stories You have never heard....

| This is literally a small hole in the wall museum. A few artifacts and many pictures not usually seen ...this was an eclectic experience. Official photographer for NYFD was on hand to give a preliminary talk and answer questions. I found some of it really amazing. It was a positive experience about the good that comes out of tragedy...not focusing on the tragedy itself. The crosses and Star of Davids made out of the fallen steel beams given out to about 1000 of the affected families was such a beautiful gesture and something I would not have known about had I not visited. There was the clock found by the photographer where time literally stood still....the last picture of the last subway train just before the ceiling came tumbling down. You are provided with head phones to get the various stories on both the photos and artifacts. Book was on hand completely done by the photographer (don't have his name handy) and some cards. Percentage of profits are given to NYFD. Friend who came with me was also touched by it. Don't forget, on your way out, to pick up prayers of every religion for peace (free) by the door. Summary: Small but worthwhile. | ||||||

| Ground Zero museum workshop is small and very fine. The artifacts that were found give an emotional impression of 9/11. And the fireworkers who manage the museum are very good guides. | ||||||

| Very inspiring, informative, and well done. Especially meaningful as the photographer was the one who conducted the program. Liked the smallness of it...small group and not an overwhelming display. Very well done and have recommended to those I have talked to about my trip to NYC. | ||||||

| This was a great experience. At first glance it seems that it would only take five minutes to see the entire museum, but after almost 2 hours I was wondering if I could take it all in. It really brought everything home. We could see and FEEL ground zero. After the museum my group went to ground zero and it is an experience I will never forget. | ||||||

| the musuem is small but there is so much history, so much emotion and so many stories packed into the room that no-one could leave untouched by the experience. we were lucky that Gary Susson himself was doing the tour which added an extra element of connection. the photos themselves are amazing and they are brought to life with the narratives, sometimes eerie, sometimes with a little bit of humour but overwhelmingly of love and respect. i'd definitely recommend booking a tour. | ||||||
