| The way this was presented allowed me to feel and see the images and artifacts on a personal level. I felt like I was in the museum by myself. With the individual headsets for listening to the recordings, I could immerse myself in each picture and artifact. I felt like I was there with my brother firefighters. Gary Suson was able to capture the essence of the moment. He was able to capture the emotions and feelingings in pictures and with sound. It was a great honor meeting Gary in person and expressing my feelings in person. Thank You, Fire Lt. ,Paramedic ,Dusty Hoffman Retired (1973-2003) | ||||||

| I visited the Ground Zero Museum Workshop during the last week of December '09 and found it to be....underwhelming. The room and displays are very small; you watch a brief video about the photographer and his experiences taking photos, then you shuffle around the perimeter of this converted efficiency apartment listening to a recorded commentary on each numbered snapshot or momento. It was only mildly interesting and mildly moving. Watching free TV documentaries is a better way to experience the impact of the attack. | ||||||

| although I found this a fascinating insight from a different perspective, I much preferred the Tribute WTC Visitor Center. The person to person approach was much more heartfelt and therefore much more moving. | ||||||

| I've never been to a museum that is so unique. It is small, but the amount of information packed onto the walls and free-standing displays was amazing. The emotional draw was sand, yet, heartwarming.. Personal - learn what you want - casual Informative - I leaned a lot of facts that I never knew before about Ground Zero, AND I was also able to identify with some of the victims' loved ones. My son, who has learning disabilities and ADHD was mesmerized with the museum Go! In Washington DC the museums are free, but Ground Zero Museum Workshop was money well spent. | ||||||

| A museum that gives you an insight the recovery that occurred in the months after 9/11. You feel as though you can connect with those firefighters that had the job of searching through the aftermath. Gary Sousans commentry as you take the self guided part of the tour is great when looking at the photos he has taken and the artefacts found. | ||||||

| Thank you for your beautiful work. Your photos were very moving - the photo of the two little girls singing Christmas carols to the recovery workers moved me to my core! Thank you for sharing with the world. My whole family thought it was a very emotional yet healing experience. | ||||||

Interesting but too expensive

| This tour is interesting, but you should come only if you're into the story of the 9-11 tragedy, specifically the part of the fire department of NY and what they found after the attack. You will not find here anything about what lead to the planes crash or any photos from the plane crash or the falling of the buildings like we saw in TV for billion times -This small museum is about the recovery. Essentially you will see there a lot of photos and interesting artifacts, while you hear the story about them in the headphones you get there. There are also guides which are very good, and the artifacts are very interesting, but I still think this tour is a bit too expensive - but the money is contributed to some organizations dealing with the families of the dead and injured people from the attack. | ||||||

| I visited with my teenage daughter (16 yrs), who was born on Sept 11, 1993 so this has been a particularly personal event in her life. We enjoyed our visit, but feel strongly that it should a) not be called a museum--it seems more like a retrofitted photography studio; b) should be clear that this is focused VERY heavily on the firefighters experience, an important one but only one perspective among many on the event; and 3) is an intimate journey through the event from ONE person's eyes, who shares his unique experience. This is very different from a museum, where an effort is made to share multiple points of view, information is gathered from experts on key issues, etc. I was particularly troubled by the photographer's religious views and lack of insight on gender issues, especially given that I was expecting a more typical museum experience. | ||||||

| Excellent little museum with audio tour of photographs and artifacts of 9/11 plus personal intro to the photos by the photographer. Grandchildren also very moved by this program as well. I believe that this experience must be coupled with a direct visit to Ground Zero, which is not provided by this venue. You can get an excellent view of Ground Zero from the second floor of the stunningly beautiful and serene Wintergarden at the end of Vesy Street, along the Hudson River, no entrance fee, and can also visit , also free of charge, the small church at the east edge of the Ground Zero site which miraculously survived the collapse of the adjacent towers entirely intact (even though the collapse brought down other adjacent smaller but still huge office towers) and which was used as a respite, staffed by dedicated volunteers, for the 9/11 recovery team for over a year. It includes many letters, photos, and other artifacts relating to the immediate afermath - search for missing loved-ones, for example, in the immediate aftermath of the collapse of the towers. Very moving! The promo material for the "Ground Zero Workshop Tour" needs to be more clear and up-front that it does not include a tour of Ground Zero , and that it is not located close to Ground Zero.. I did not realize this until I had booked my ticket. This venue should, unsolicited, suggest to those booking tickets, that they should also consider planning a visit to Ground Zero like that I have mentioned, and provide directions to get there. | ||||||

| very small 2nd floor room offering an interesting and factual account of the clear up after 9/11 - it does not address the actual incident or immediate 24 hrs afterwards. Really an hour was adequate to cover this and children over of 13/15/17 would not last longer. The area is off the beaten track so if you are on a tight timeframe visit you would be better to go to ground zero and visit the museums on site. Good diner and restaurants so good to combine with lunch. I thought the fee was too high but at least this is a non profit making organisation. | ||||||

| It seemed as if it were in a bad location, maybe even someones apartment. When you use the word "Museum", you think of a professional building and professional staff, but this was a ONE ROOM Musuem (what looked to be once a living room) with the office desk and all the wires and unorganized mess in the same room. It was mostly decriptions of pictures someone took at ground zero, which was interesting, but not AT ALL what I had expected. | ||||||

| Extremely well set out displays and helpful staff. Personalised audio tour meant that you could look at exhibits in any order. Audio commentary really gave a flavour of the many intimate stories behind the amazing photographs. Incredible how much could be learnt from such a small exhibition area. Highly recommended. Well worth the time and money. Book ahead as tour numbers are limited. An experience that will stay with you long after you return home. | ||||||

| All Americans (and anyone for that matter) must see this museum. It puts a face to a senseless tragedy at the same time serving a reminder of how great our country and Americans are and can be. Amazing photographs with touching stories to go with each. Highly recommend. | ||||||

| As a volunteer firefighter, was a member of the fire co when the event happened, had a rescue company dispatched to NYC for cover assignment, and most recently came to find out that my daughter's friends father perished, I was emotionally overcome. If you have had any connection prior to your visit you too will be overwhelmed by emtion. This is a photo gallery that is about 40' by 40'. There are over 90 photographs with explainations for each in the photographers own words. it is audio-tour, you go at your own pace. It is impossible to listen to all the explainations as you have about 75 minutes to listen to the photograph explainations. The intro videos they show set the mood for sadness and power to survive. The public transportation directions that were given were very good. I am not sure how much embellishment was made in the explainations of the photos. The middle of the gallery is set up like a living room so visiting surviving firefighters can feel comfortable. Speaking of comfort, due to the overwhelming nature of the gallery, tissues are provided and encouraged. For some this will be a healing visit, and others will feel in touch with what firefighters dealt with that day. | ||||||
