| We visited both the tribute centre and WTC walking tour and the ground zero workshop museam. Both were very different and touching but the ground zero museam felt much more intimate and close to the experience. Right now ground zero itself is a construction site and will be for many years and while the WTC tribute centre is worth a visit this was for me was the more touching experience. The photos, videos, artifcats from the rubble, talking face to face with someone that had been there and the background music make for an immersing way to feel some of what was felt that day and in the aftermath. Tissues are provided and required by most of us who saw the video and heard the stories relating to the photos and the objects. The book on sale is well worth the money as well! Although this gallery is not at ground zero it is worth the trip. Few things these day touch you to the point that you feel you will never be the same again but our experience at the ground zero workshop tour was definately one of them. May peace join us all and may no one in the world forget | ||||||

The Essence of 9/11

| This museum is a photographic journey into the depths of what occured that fateful day. More importantly, the story of 9/11 is shared in a tasteful way that honors the spirit of all those who have been affected by what took place. Although the many images communicate the pain and tragedy of 9/11 those same images also convey the beautiful spirit of the people of New York and their unwillingness to give up. The Ground Zero Museum is more than just a museum, it is an experience to be reflected upon and cherished- Gary Marlon Suson's photographs capture the essence of the human experience after 9/11 in a powerful and moving way that is not to be missed! | I wasn't sure what to expect when arriving at the Ground Zero Museum. The outside of the building is deceiving and so is the inside. When you first enter you may think it's small, but it packs a powerful emotional punch. I left emotionally drained and glad that I stumbled upon the website that led me to the museum. We spent over two hours going over the pictures there and I hope that the museum continues to grow and that people will never forget what happened on September 11th. | ||||||

| I am a retired fire officer who served 20 years with the FDNY. The events of 9-11 touched me very deeply. I lost 343 fellow firefighters that hatefull day. I thought i was over the emotion of such a loss, but the museum presentation brought it all back like it was yesterday. I actually broke down during the initial video presentation, and Gary was very sympathetic to my display of emotions. He allowed me as much time as I needed to compose myself. Gary Suson has done a remarkable job in both, the research and the presentation of the events following 9-11. He spent numerous hours at the site and in the hole. His displays clearly reflect that effort. I highly recommend this exhibit to anyone and everyone. But, if you have any attachment to the events of 9-11, be prepared to become emotional. Thank you Bob Perry | ||||||

| This was an inspiring and interactive look at ground zero from the eyes of the only photographer allowed to take pictures. It was interactive because we could touch pieces of steel and pieces of rare glass found at the site. It has a personal touch as only a handful of people can go at one time because of the size of the exhibit. Don't be suspicious of the means to get in to the exhibit. You need to go at noon and be buzzed up to the second floor in the meat packing district. It is on the up-and-up, and done that way because of the small size of the exhibit. To sum up, it was sensative and touching. Proceeds from this exhibit go to help charities associated with 9-11.. | ||||||

| We were both very surprised how small and intimite the museum was. Gary Suson was there to tell us everything we wanted to know, but a lot of pictures told us the story itself. It gave us the impression we were actually there to relive it. The pictures were so real, so impressive. If you really want to know more about 9/11, more about the rescuers who did such a great job, and you want to hear stories you will never believe but did happen. Please go to this museum. It is the perfect way! | ||||||

| We were fortunate to have Gary as our 'guide'. He has given to the world the priceless gift of his time, talent and enormous sensitivity and caring for such a traumatic event in the history of the United States and the World that is still hard to get one's mind around. Our hearts cannot even imagine the true love, compassion and self-sacrifice that he and those working at Ground Zero gave for our fellow humans lost in this horrible tragedy. Each exemplifies the grace and goodness that we each would hope to find in ourselves if called upon in any needful situation. This exhibit should never be dismantled. Attendance should be mandatory so the World never forgets the tragedy, but also, gains an understanding of the resilience and generousity of the human, and very American, spirit. | ||||||

| This exhibit really brought the details of the recovery and the magntitude of the task that the firefighters and other recovery workers faced in the days and months after 9/11. It is a moving and extremely sensitive display of photos and artifacts that really make one stop and think again about the horrific acts of 9/11 and about the fact that we need to be constantly on guard to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. The sensitivity of the photographer was so evident throughout the entire display, and the personal and profound effect that his work throughtout the recovery period had on him as a person was tremendous. He has done a great service to the rest of us by documenting these events, as well as the effect that they had on him personally. The bravery and tenacity of the recovery workers cannot be overstated - they are all true heroes and this exhibit is one that everyone who visits New York should see - I highly reccomend it. | ||||||

| My wife and I found this to be a deeply emotional experience. Coming from Australia, and also being previous visitors to New York City, we were very touched by the photos, video/audio presentations but most specifically by Gary Suson's personal account and recollections. We applaud his passion, not only to his art, but also to the thousands of people who lost their lives on that terrible day and their families. Having watched this all unfold back in 2001 from Melbourne, Australia and being quite distressed at the time it was a sureal experience to talk to someone who was at the World Trade Centre site during the recovery operation. Gary was an amazing person who has a great talent, not only with his photography, but also with his recollections of the various stories behind his photos. We purchased his book "Requiem" and have bought that home with us to ensure we never forget the very moving experience of the museum. We have had quite a few requests from familty and friends to view this book. Those who have already done so have also found it very moving in itself. Gary's work and museum should have a lot more exposure and recognition for what he has done in ensuring that 9/11 is never forgotton in the amazingly tasteful way that he has portrayed his photos, artifacts and stories. Very, very highly recommend. However take plenty of tissues. David and Michelle Burdett, Melbourne, Australia. | ||||||

| The Ground Zero Museum Workshop was a very emotional and intimate experience. It's basically one room filled with Gary Suson's moving photos and many artifacts from the World Trade Center. Gary was very gracious and open about his experiences at Ground Zero. | ||||||
