I have been on this particular boat ride on and off for over 15 years. It still provides a nice little getaway.

Expanded food choices would be better.

Although the tour itself was okay, we were encouraged to board one hour before departure. It would have been much better to have had more choices of food instead of just hot dogs. Cold sandwiches would have been very welcome instead of 26% fat hot dogs. The crew treated us very well.

Great way to see the Hudson

This is a great way to entertain out-of-towners for a few hours or enjoy a new look of the Hudson if you're local. The tour was informative, the people were friendly, and the view was beautiful.

It was a good experience overall. The ticket agent was very helpful, courteous and patient. The boat was very clean. The bathroom even had flowers in it (nice touch). The crew was friendly, professional and efficient. The views and landmarks were sensational. I would have preferred a live person as a tour guide, instead of the recorded version. It was difficult to hear the recording on the top level. The trip would have been more fun with a live person as the guide so one could have their questions answered. Having music on the way back was a good idea.

Nice service at the bar

I just want to say that the crew gave me and my family a very good service at the bar. She brought everything to us and did not rush us for payment until the end. Very thoughtful.

I HAD BEEN ON THE CRUISE PREVIOUSLY AND DECIDED WITH A FRIEND TO TAKE MY 13 YR. OLD NIECE AND 15 YR. OLD NEPHEW. THEY WERE IN AWE OF THE EXPERIENCE AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I WOULD DEFINITELY PLAN ANOTHER CRUISE IN THE FUTURE. GREAT FOR ADULTS BUT ALSO A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS.

Would Try a Different Cruise Next Time

As indicated above, we are 'neutral' in our rating. Chief complaints, the narration was a recording, long silences (Cold Spring never mentioned), and somewhat difficult to hear in the enclosed cabin (it was raining).

A very nice get-away

Pride of the Hudson lets you relax, and learn something about the stretch of river from Newburgh to West Point with a friendly staff. Sitting on the top is lovely although the narrator tape generally was not loud enough to hear everything. Be prepared for strong sun on top, there are few seats in the shade. Even though we never saw a sign for Newburgh landing, the waterfront is small enough that we could spot the boat easily as we drove along. Some very nice restaurants to dine in afterwards. We recommend the Torches, no way as expensive as had been told.
