Hudson River Adventures

I HAD BEEN ON THE CRUISE PREVIOUSLY AND DECIDED WITH A FRIEND TO TAKE MY 13 YR. OLD NIECE AND 15 YR. OLD NEPHEW. THEY WERE IN AWE OF THE EXPERIENCE AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I WOULD DEFINITELY PLAN ANOTHER CRUISE IN THE FUTURE. GREAT FOR ADULTS BUT ALSO A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS.

The tour guides were very knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting

For those of you who, like us, have driven by in a car, commuted past in a train or sailed near Bannerman's Island for years and years and always wondered "What it would be like to actually walk on that island?" you can now have this unique opportunity. We highly recommend taking the chartered boat rides from the Beacon or Newburgh waterfront docks any weekend May-October. The low cost includes a guided tour of the island's incredible ruins, gardens and history. It's far more than the former home of an arms dealer. It's beautiful, fascinating, historically significant, and if you're like us, it's right in your own backyard!

A great way to spend an afternoon learning about a local historical landmark. Who hasn't seen the Scottish castle out on an island in the Hudson River from the Metro North train, or the Beacon shore? Learn about this history of this mysterious place, and explore the island on a guided tour. Very informative and fun.

This tour will get you as close as you can legally get to the Bannerman ruins. The guides are knowledgable and enthusiastic, even on the very hot day we took the tour.

Thouroughly enjoyed the boat ride. Not too much narration, but enough at different timrs. Very clear to understand Good knowledge of surroundings Only thing I did not like was the smell of the lower cabin

I organized a group of my New Yorker friends to go on this tour as a way to do something outside of the city. We took the Metro North all the way up and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The boat and tour crew were very nice and very efficient. The island was beautiful and even though you can't get close to the actual castle, it's still amazing to see from far away. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and interactive and he kept our whole group engaged throughout. I would recommend this activity to anyone, especially if you go on a Sunday because there is a little farmers' market near the ferry dock with yummy food and cute crafts.

I really enjoyed this walking tour. The boat ride (we left from Beacon) was perfect to get a little better look at the area. The tour itself was very informative and entertaining. The guides are great and full of knowledge. We picked the perfect day weatherwise. The info on the site was very descriptive and we were well prepared for the walking part. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I will recommend it to others and might take one of the other tours as well.

The cruise was informative and enjoyable, and the facilities were clean and in good condition. Our only complaint was that the recorded sightseeing information was much too loud and provided more historical details than necessary or desired! Other than that, the captain was very nice and we had a great time.

the ride down the river an hour to west point and then back is nice especially on a lovely day like we had but the boat is older and dirty with no real amenities. The recorded narrative is even years old apparently...like a bus tour you'd think a live tour guide would be involved to provide some color commentary but no its just a recording. Staff was friendly.

This sightseeing cruise was a great experience not only for me but the kids as well. It was very interesting and there was never one dull moment. The staff was great and the atmosphere as well. I would highly recommend this trip for an outing with the family. We all had a fantastic time and would do it again.

We greatly enjoyed the trip but the boat could use some upkeep. The inside bar area needs airing out, has a musty smell and the upstairs deck area has peeling paint. Just a little more "Pride" in the boat itself and it would be perfect. Nice crew.
