Hudson River Adventures

I cannot think of a better way to spend time on a sweltering summer afternoon. My only wish is that I had come out on the upper deck sooner so that I could hear the speaker more clearly without the distractions that occurred inside on the lower deck. The courtesy of the staff was commendable and I would consider taking the trip again--this time on the upper deck.

Found it to be a relaxing time on the river. Was good to hear the sights I grew up in explanned to others.

The staff was friendly and competent. The interior of the boat was clean with lovely tables and comfortable chairs. With such reasonable rates, I will probably take it again. I only wish the ride were longer!

The cruise on the Hudson was a lot of fun. The ship was clean and the people who worked on board were helpful. We stayed inside the vessel in the air conitioning. My only complaint was the staff did nothing to quiet a large group who were very loud. Once my family and I moved our seats we could hear the tour guide explain what we were passing on our ride to West Point. It was a relaxing and fun trip after this. It would be helpful to tell loud passanger to go outside so others can hear!

This was a very pleasant boat ride with good narration. It was nice that the narration wasn't continuous, which allowed time for conversation or just relaxing. The boat staff were friendly and the boat was clean and spacious. It helped that the weather was perfect. My mother in law from England thoroughly enjoyed it.

This activity was one of our choices for this past 4th of July (2012). I was pleased with just about everything. It was easy to purchase tickets on line at a reasonable price. The directions provided for driving to the pier were very clear. The boat was easily accesible and well maintained.The crew was friendly and the narrative was very informative. The river route south of Newburgh was beautiful, particularly near West Point. We did not purchase refreshments on board. My only suggestion would be an improved PA system. There will always be those incredibly rude passengers on this sort of thing who won't be quiet in order to allow others to listen to the narration of the cruise. It would seem that the only alternative to throwing them overboard would be to speak louder than they do.

We were close but, unable to find your location. We called you and received step by step directions Then later a very nice person called back to make sure we had found your location. Very helpful.

Terrific

We have toured PAST the Castle many times by boat, but this is our first time ON the Island. What a Wonderful Tour! The boat was clean and comfortable. The entire tour was punctual, well-organized, scenic, informative and interesting.

I really enjoyed the boat ride and tour of Bannerman Island. My only wish was that we went on a bit of a cooler day! The host, Neil, was so gracious and wonderful. It was an enjoyable experience all around.

I HAD BEEN ON THE CRUISE PREVIOUSLY AND DECIDED WITH A FRIEND TO TAKE MY 13 YR. OLD NIECE AND 15 YR. OLD NEPHEW. THEY WERE IN AWE OF THE EXPERIENCE AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I WOULD DEFINITELY PLAN ANOTHER CRUISE IN THE FUTURE. GREAT FOR ADULTS BUT ALSO A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS.

The tour guides were very knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting

For those of you who, like us, have driven by in a car, commuted past in a train or sailed near Bannerman's Island for years and years and always wondered "What it would be like to actually walk on that island?" you can now have this unique opportunity. We highly recommend taking the chartered boat rides from the Beacon or Newburgh waterfront docks any weekend May-October. The low cost includes a guided tour of the island's incredible ruins, gardens and history. It's far more than the former home of an arms dealer. It's beautiful, fascinating, historically significant, and if you're like us, it's right in your own backyard!

Enjoyed the trip very much. Two slight suggestions would be louder and clearer tape on narration as we sat in back of boat downstairs and sometimes couldn't hear what was being said. Second thing was warm beverages. My husband and I each had a beer and they were pretty warm. Didn't purchase any further beverages after that for that reason and it was a very warm evening.

The only drawback was out of the operators' control - it was beastly hot and I ended up sitting in the shade half-war through, waited until the tour ended to re-join the group.
