Hudson River Adventures

This was a very classy tour. The boat ride was fun, and very comfortable. Our island guide was extremely knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic, providing a great deal of detail about the history of Bannerman and his island. I learned a lot. I very much appreciated the fact that the tour was exactly as described, and very professionally handled. Every part of the tour was exactly on time, as described. When they say the boat ride is 1/2 hour, the tour is 1.5 hours, and we'll be back by 4pm, they're not kidding. Two very minor criticisms: 1) As far as I could tell, there was no need for the helmets we were required to wear. I'm guessing the lawyers made them do that. Lawyers will be the death of us! 2) A video was shown on the boat ride. The sound portion of the video was easily intelligible and interesting, but the video portion was hard to see, partly because the monitors were small, and partly because the video was poor quality.

This was a wonderful excursion! The boat ride on the Poleipel was excellent. Seats were comfortable, ride was enjoyable and view of both Beacon and Newburgh sides of the river were outstanding! DVD presentationo on boat ride was an excellent overview of Bannerman's Island and the history of the Bannerman family along with folklore associated with the naming of the island.. The boatload of 48 was divided into two tour groups upon arrival. Our guide Steve and his wife Marge led the 24 of us and were nothing short of outstanding! You are lucky to have such engaging volunteers!. Each was clearly enthusiastic about the Bannerman family and its island; they were open to questions and made the overall trip the success it was! We will heartily recommend this trip to others! I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful day on and in the Hudson! The staff onboard the boat were very helpful. The narration was extremely knowledgeable and really made the trip worthwhile. The views were incredible. I'd highly recommend this trip.

Had a great time extremely convient. The tour given was very informative. Extremely pleased.

The cruise travels through what is arguably the most spectacular stretch of the Hudson River. It can only improve as the fall foliage reaches full color. I found it a bit disingenuous that the discounted $17 special for seniors was bumped up to $19 at checkout with a $2 "ticket handling" charge. I'm sure the $20 ticket doesn't get bumped to $22. Why not just advertise a $19 senior ticket and knock off the "bait and switch" routine?

My wife and I enjoyed the two-hour tour. We only wish that the volume of the recording explainung the sights was somewhat louder.

We recently took this tour on a beautiful fall day. The tour was informative and interesting. The Island and castle ruin was lovely and a perfect location for photos. Would have liked to get closer to the castle, but understand that the structure is no longer stable. We certainly hope that funds become available to preserve and perhaps restore this one-of-a-kind place! We plan to return!

We had expected more of a hike and walking event. Instead an overly-enthusiastic tour guide walked us to a half dozen places and talked for 10-15 minutes at each place. We also learned way too much about the biography, likes and dislikes of the guide. The description of the event should be changed to reflect what actually happens.

My partner Debbie and I learned of Bannerman Island through a co-worker, who had taken the river cruise. After a quick visit to the website, I was hooked and couldn't wait to see the island for myself. We were not disappointed. The boat crew, they did a great job from start to finish. Then there was our island tour guide, Gary, the retired schoolteacher. We were thrilled because Gary is first rate. He has exceptional knowledge and presented it well. Though I was busy taking pictures, I hung on to every word and went home feeling well informed. I record my day trips with photos, to be shown as slide shows for my place of employment, The Good Samaritan Adult Home in Delmar NY. The folks wont be disappointed with this one! The Bannerman Island walking tour makes for a great day out and I will highly recommend it to anyone showing interest. . Larry & Debbie

I feel that more history about the Hudson River and the area we sailed should be presented. Once we got to West Point the information ceased and it turned into a short sail to no where. Thought there would be more facts pertaining to the Hudson River Region.

The River Tour on the "Pride of the Hudson", was very good. Naration provided many interesting historical points of interest. The staff was friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for more. Zerve booking agent was professional and friendly. Booking agent advised me that there was a $2 booking fee per ticket. Thanks to the booking agent for telling me, but I found the website to be misleading. This wasn't mentioned in the website, I was booking for a large work group and this unforseen cost caused me to go over budget. Should have been clear on the website....

I would recommend this tour to anyone. go before the entire thing collapses and there is nothing left to see

The trip was very good. We were a little rushed at the end. To many tours at once. Other than that, it went well. I would like to go back next year. They are going to rebuild the structures.

The Pride of the Hudson offered an unique way to see the river and the land that borders it. The crew was very friendly and quite knowledgeable. The ship was immaculate. However the Hudson was the star of the day. I had made many trips to West Point but had never seen it from the river. That view and a pair of bald eagles gliding over the water made a clear September day one to remember.
