the tour was interesting. we were fortunate to have beautiful weather. we will tell our friends about this and hope that they will experience it.

Had a wonderful experience with the crew and tour guides on Bannerman's Island. This is truly a great way to experience one of the Hudson Valley's architectural gems!

I recommend everyone do this tour while the Castle is still standing!

A group of 4 of us decided to venture to Newburgh to board the Pollepel Ferry and see the Bannerman Scottish Castle. It was a beautiful day and the ride on the Ferry was very comfortable. The guides are very knowledgeable and allows your mind to wonder back to those days with all the details they give you on the history of the Island and the people that lived there. I pray that with new customers go and visit since the fee to go there to Bannerman Castle goes to the restoration of such a beautiful place. Gary was an awesome guide!

Beautiful boat ride, entertaining, knowledgeable guides and a beautiful historic landmark. I'm looking forward to volunteering next year so I can spend more time at such a wonderful place. I hope they get to restore the residence someday. Highly recommended.

Very nice afternoon. Our guide, forget his name, was extremely knowledgable and very devoted to the history of the island, as he is the author of several historical books in the area. There is a fair amount of walking, but broken up quite well (walk some, stop and listen for a while, walk some more, etc). Only the last section which goes down on the south side of the island is steep and a number of people in our group opted to not go there. We had a nice afternoon and would definitely recommend the trip.

The tour was put forward as a "hard hat" tour that strenuously covered the island. It mainly consisted of walking 50 feet and standing for 15-25 minutes at a time. Since 2007 no visitors have been allowed anywhere close to the castle ruins by NY state (who holds the insurance titles) and so while you are closer to the ruins then via MetroNorth or boat, they are still in the distance. Interesting history and a cool tour if you'd like to see it before it falls down completely, but the tour activity was greatly oversold and kinda of a snooze fest.

My friends and I have been talking about going on this trip for a while, however, our schedules always delayed the date we could get together. We finally got the chance to go to Bannerman's Island and I'm glad we did! The boat ride was very comfortable and the hike was invigorating. There were plenty of stops along the hiking trails during the guided tour and the guides were very knowledgeable and considerate of everyone in the different groups. Everyone should try this tour. Extremely interesting!!!

an engine conked out, there was a smell of burning rubber and the cabin had to be emptied out. It happened halfway through the trip so when we turned around it took much longer than expected. We were accompanied by a Coast Guard boat and felt perfectly secure. Stuff happens. Since one of our group is 98 years old, she especially liked the slow pace, sitting outside. The staff was very helpful with her walker. We still very much enjoyed the trip.

There were several breaks in the tape and I think that more history should have been included.

The story and buildings are great. A lifelong area resident, I've wanted to go to the island since childhood. The walking can be a challenge since the paths are rough, but worth the effort. Tour guide was exceptional.

The views from and of the Hudson were magnificent. Our tour guide (Tom?) was extremely knowledgeable and evtertainingh as well. I was impressed with the efforts being made to stabilize the structures and restore the gardens. Boat crew were also helpful and friendly and videos werer informative.
