Hudson River Adventures

Really great tour of the fascinating Bannerman's Island. All proceeds go towards the preservation of the island and guides are all volunteers. Do it!

We had Barbara as our tour guide! It is worth seeing, and really educational, For money to help Bannermans, they should try to get involved with the schools PTA in the Orange County and Dutches area so that they could do fundraisers for Bannermans Island and have trips for the kids. There is so much history in this area that they need to be aware of. "And" if the authors of the book are giving the tour they could purchase the book on the boat (producing money for Bannermans) and have it signed by the authors. (I have the Bannermans Island book which I purchased at Barnes and Noble years ago I wish I knew I would have had Barbara sign it. I even said I would love to voulenteer there when time permits. GREAT TOUR! My son has been wanting to go there since he was 4yrs old, we finally took him for his 11th birthday and he LOVED IT! He wore the Bannermans shirt we purchased to school the next day. IF YOU ARE TAKING THE BOAT FROM NEWBURGH MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT PORT. THEY NEED TO BE MORE SPECIFIC WHAT THE NAME OF THE BOAT IS THAT YOU WILL BE BOARDING! IT WILL NOT BE THE PRIDE OF THE HUDSON BUT THE POLLEPEL ..MANY PEOPLE WERE CONFUSED BY THIS ..... Laura Colavito-Agosta

The trip was very relaxing however there were two things that are worth mentioning. If you sit at the rear of the boat on the top deck you find that you are not able to hear the announcements or narration as well as when you are downstairs. Also, it would be nice if the trip were a little longer or the boat went a little faster. It would have been nice if the boat went down to the Bear Mountain Bridge and then turned around. Overall it was most enjoyable and would consider doing it again.

This was my family's first trip to Newburgh NY . We loved the Hudson River Adventure. I would recommend this to anyone. The town was quaint and the cruise was relaxing.

All the adults thoroughly enjoyed the educational and recreational aspects of the cruise, but to charge adult rates for a four year old is quite unreasonable. We suggest you develop some childrens' rates as well.

Would have like a more narrative guide

Family came up from florida, we googled hv cruises and bought tickets on line. We had lunch on the boat while learning a little history. It was a nice family outing and the kids loved it.

My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon on Bannerman Island and aboard the Pollepel. Our tour guide Steve had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Bannerman family history and arsenal, and presented an engaging, informative, and lively examination of the island's architectural ruins. All the volunteers were professional and courteous, and made our visit most memorable. This is a one-of-a-kind experience not to be missed!

I would recommend this boat ride to all ages...........and would definitely choose the Sunset Cruise!

It was a pleasant 2 hour ride. The narration offered facts about the sights viewed on the trip.

Support the preservation of Bannerman island by going on the tour. It is a beautiful gem in the middle of the river that needs to be saved. The price was well worth it b/c it went to the organization. Go on sunny day to really take in the beauty.

Clean boat, resonably priced snacks, courteous staff, overall a great time!
