My family from out of town enjoyed the "day" on the river--seeing a portion of NY they had not seen before. The crew made them feel welcome and glad that they had a chance to take this tour. |

This is a fantastic little piece of history. Great trip all around and very imformative guides. Its a shame New York isnt doing more to protect its local history and treasures such as this one. |

My family and I finally took advantage of a local tourist attraction and boarded the boat in Newburgh that took us to Bannerman Island. Our
tour guides were great, ethusiastic and well versed in the history of the island. Afterall, the woman who guided us helped write the book about Bannerman Island that was available for sale on the boat. The young man that was our host on baord was also very pleasant and professional. Thanks to you all. I have already recommended this attraction to others! |

The boat ride is rather uncomfortable, very warm. You need fans on the boat and they need to work. We had to contend with two other groups at the same time - too much hassle. Need to organize the distribution of photos to assure that everyone sees them. Need to have a better supply of books available for purchase and the rather nonchallant young man on the boat needs to talk them up. The tour itself was interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable. |

I thought this would be an interesting local tourist activity to take my parents on, because this area is truly packed with history and I thought we would learn some things we didn't already know. I learned a little bit, but I expected to learn a lot more, considering it was a 2 hour tour.
*There was a pre-recorded narration that would play when we went past certain landmarks, but not all. We also stayed on the west side of the river, and I'm surprised we didn't go by Beacon, which is a very interesting city. I'm glad that the narration wasn't playing the whole time, but it was lacking at times. Also it was hard to hear on the top deck because there were only 2 speakers and some people were talking.
*Keep in mind this a 2 hour "cruise" down the Hudson from Newburgh to World's End, a little past West Point. ....It's very slow.
*There are a lot of senior citizens for this activity. It might not be your thing if you're looking for a fresh, exciting time.
*The staff is really great. They're warm and helpful.
Wouldn't do it again, but if you want a pleasant ride and don't care about the company or the slowness of the ride, it's pretty cool, and you get a nice view of Bannerman's island! |

Eveyone was very pleasant. The cruise was nice, but the audio system was not the best. I was with a slightly hearing impaired older woman who had a hard time understanding the narrative. The crew did try to adjust the volume, but the system was not the best. Maybe a written narrative should accompany the brochures. |

We enjoyed bringing a picnic lunch and sitting at one of the tables eating, while the boat cruised. However, since we were just behind the enclosed area there was no breeze and it was a VERY hot day. My main suggestion would be to put a fan on the upper deck?? |

It gives you another view of the beautiful Hudson River Valley. Interesting historical facts are provided. There is outdoor seating and an air conditioned interior space with a full service bar. Ideal for a family adventure. |

The narration broke down repeatedly and finally quit altogether. It seemed to be a mechanical failure. When the crewmen were asked if it would be restored, they seemed unconcerned and uncaring. When asked if it would be fixed, a typical answer was "Probably, they usually do." Without the narration, this was just a boat ride. We can get that anywhere. There were no apologies or recognition during or after the cruise that there was a problem. As we were disembarking, the crew just stood around and smiled as though there had been nothing wrong.
And, certainly no mention of a refund or any compensation. I will warn other people rather than recommend them. |

Expected a narrated cruise. The narration was pre-recorded and kept cutting out, so we observed "radio silence" for much of it. The lower, enclosed deck was incredibly hot (no a/c) and there were ants crawling on the windowsills and walls. Cruising south it was very hot, but once we turned around to head north we had the breeze and it was more pleasant. My party consisted of myself, my husband, and two kids (9 and 13) and cost over $80. I'm not sure it was worth that price, but it gave us something to do on a Thursday afternoon. |

Despite a misty rain, we were welcomed to the boat and once on Polipell Island, found that the volunteer leaders were enthusiatic and knowledgable about the Bannerman Castle and grounds. The gardens newly planted showed the hard work of many volunteers. I had a very enjoyable afternoon. |
