Hudson River Adventures

After a great boat ride - we were efficiently divided into smaller groups, led by an excellent guide (we could tell that neither group was short changed on that front!). Every consideration was met - whether admonitions on the website about shoes or the number of stairs involved - or breaks along the way for people to rest. We were treated to a wonderful history lesson spanning social history, military history, economic history, archaeology and preservation. We were not talked down to, and all questions were answered. I would do this again with other out of town guests.

It was a nice experience, although I think the speaker needs to be turned up. It was so low and with all the noise I would have like to hear what they were saying about the different locations we passed by. But I could bearly hear them and most people were talking among themselves and not listening. I really was interested in hearing about the historical places more than the boat ride.

Our only suggestion is that the guides avoid repeating information already included in the talk and video on the boat, particularly the part about the name of the island. Our guide was exceedingly well informed and had much more interesting things to talk about, so we regretted his spending time going over material we had already heard.

My guests were from Australia, and they were very impressed with the boat and the people who took care of them. They learned a lot about the area and took many pictures.

The staff was great as well as the boat. We enjoyed the cruise and would recommend this to other guests.

The boat ride was very nice although we wished that the seats were a little higher to get a better view of the river. The tour guides were well informed an enthusiastic. We learned alot and the tour was just the right length.

The trip was not as scenic as the one that leaves from Kingston (Hudson River Cruises). The boat was not as large as that one, and since it was a drizzly day, we were forced to remain inside. On the other one, the top deck seating is covered. Narration was provided on the outbound leg but not coming back. That made the trip a bit boring. Not as many notable views or sights as the Kingston trip. Staff was friendly and helpful and boat was clean.

Our church staff, consisting of 15 people, ages ranging from the early 20's to 60's, enjoyed the cruise for our quarterly staff event. It was a great way to spend time together and learn more about our local history.

Clean boat, resonably priced snacks, courteous staff, overall a great time!

Support the preservation of Bannerman island by going on the tour. It is a beautiful gem in the middle of the river that needs to be saved. The price was well worth it b/c it went to the organization. Go on sunny day to really take in the beauty.

It was a pleasant 2 hour ride. The narration offered facts about the sights viewed on the trip.
