Although I enjoyed the cruise I was extremely disappointed when I disembarked at approximately 3:10 PM. I was looking forward to enjoying a late afternoon lunch on the waterfront, I was turned away from three of the restaurants even though they had seating because they were nolonger seating and told I should come back in 1 hour to 90 minutes. Since I had a three hour drive ahead of me I didn't want to wait. So I drove an additional hour away and found a lovely restuarant by the water in Kingston, NY. I was ready and willing to spend more money in Newburg but apparently your economy is during so well you don't mind discouraging people from spending time and money in your community. |

We went on a beautiful saturday. The weather was gorgeous. The narration was informative. The sightseeing was relaxing but a little long for young kids. We had 10, 7,5,3 year olds with us and I think the cruise was just 30 minutes too long for the younger kids. But overall it was a great day out. |

Very enjoyable 2 hours. It would be nice if the narrator pointed out things a little better. Being new to the area it wasn't always clear what the narrator was pointing out. Also the narrator had a very bland uninteresting tone to his voice. |

Disappointed with Ticketing Agency Fee

$2.00 fee for each ticket is really outrageous. This should be a percentage of the sub total.
If it was up to me, we would have found some other activity that wasn't so costly. |

We decided to host a 60th Wedding Anniversary Road Rally for the family. The Bannerman Cruise and Walking Tour was one of the destinations and may I add the best. We had 25 family members ranging in age from 22-84. All loved the outing.
Trying to book the excursion was very easy over the phone. I had to accommodate family members with limited walking abilities and all was handled professionally.
The crew was very accommodating; letting us bring on bagged lunch to feed my group. The boat was perfect for this. It is like being in an airplane with tray tables and all.
Once on the island we were able to leave those that could not walk the tour in the dock area. Tour guides shared with them pictures of what the castle, etc looked like up above. The rest of the group, including two 84 year old men took the tour. Our guide actually wrote the book about Bannerman (which I read before the tour.) He followed very closely to the book which I enjoyed. He also had blown up photos of the island and castle from days past so we could see what has changed.
We had a beautiful weather day - full sun around 75 degrees. Gorgeous views!!! Most of the trail was easily managed. Towards the south part of the island there is a very steep trail that our 84 year old men did not take but there was a landing on top where they stayed till we returned.
We had 3 archaeologists in the family and they enjoyed this tour immensely! The story of Bannerman is incredible.
I recommend this tour very highly for those that want to learn about history in the Hudson Valley, for those that want to just be out on the river on a beautiful day and for those who love adventure. It was very well done. Bravo! Best of luck for the renovation! |

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our outing to Pollepel Island.
The boat was prompt and comfortable. Our island tour guide (a retired school teacher and life long local resident) was relaxed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about presenting the history of the Hudson River, the Bannerman family and the architectual evolution of the various ruins standing on Pollepel. He was equipped with several old photographs so that we could all see the past and appreciate what has produced present day Pollepel Island.
Excellent experience - we hope to make the trip again next year. Future visit or not, we believe that protecting this piece of physical history from further demise is a cause worthly of our financial support. |

First we couldn't have asked for a better day. The boat ride was smooth over the choppy waters and the movie was educational as it gave us more of an idea of what the castle was used for. The walking tour was also very interesting especially when the tour guides showed us the pictures of what is was like as compared to now. The hike wasn't too strenuous, but if you have difficulty walking, there were plenty of opportunities to sit out the hills and meet up with the rest of your group later. The views were spectacular and if I didn't live in CT, I'd consider volunteering myself. I highly recommend this tour. I will probably do this again, except next time in a kayak. You get different views from the water. The only complaint that I had was that there was no place to get gifts. I would have liked a book of postcards or a book that told the history or had pictures of the castle then and now. I took several pictures on my own, but for safetly reasons you are limited to where you can walk. |

My friends and I spent 2 hours on a cruiz last weekend.
The cruiz was fine. We had a good time. The crew was very polite.
The only thing is for us it would be better not just have a cruiz but also have a walk somewhere and then come back on a cruiz.
I recommend this cruiz if you want to relax and explore the beauty of American Nature. |

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset Cruise. The sights were beautiful and the narrative was very interesting. The crew was very friendly and accomodating. All in all, a bargain for the price. Another bonus was the dock area with its unique restaurants (all with outside river-front seating) and a walkway along the river for strolling and watching the sights. |

Captain Bob is the best. He is knowledgeable and very accomodating. I was allowed in the captain's area to have an excellent view and learnt a lot. Drinks are reasonably priced. Should offer more more trips that last into the night with music and dancing. |
