| Anyone can go to the Haight and do a self-guided tour, but you get so much more color and history and trivia on the Flower Power Walking Tour. It is well worth $20. We enjoyed our guide, Izu, and especially loved seeing the Grateful Dead house. |

| Our very enthusiastic guide shared some very interesting and humorous history about people and events occurring in the Haight during the past forty years. She knows; she's been there much of that time. I didn't know that Jerry Garcia and the Hells Angels once lived across the street from each other. Izu, our guide, pointed out other residences where famous musicians lived, partied and just hung out. She really has some stories to tell about her own adventures living in the area.
The tour is an easy walk, mostly in the upper Haight. Many of the buildings have been beautifully restored and maintained. Some still have the flavor of the 60s. Tourists can still get a feel for the flower power generation by just visiting some of the businesses. A number of present-day trendy shops and restaurants are there, too.
Taking this tour is a fun and interesting way to spend two and a half hours. You'll learn things probably not found in any book or article, see things you won't find anywhere else, get some exercise and probably meet people from other parts of the country and the world. |

| Tour Guide was interesting and very knowledgable---if just alittle eccentric. The tour length was a bit too long. It should have ended after about 2 hours. |

| We enjoyed the tour very much. Stan was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the area and what went down in the Haight over the years and he was very funny too. |

| Our guide, an artist who goes by the pseudonym Stannous Flouride, was steeped in the lore of Haight-Ashbury and made the neighborhood come alive for us. He shared his knowledge of its history and architecture and interspersed it with humor and many personal anecdotes from his life there. Highly recommended. |

| Thank you so much for the breadth of detail and knowledge about this character filled area of our state. I loved seeing the photographs that our guide had on hand as well as the visit to the beautiful home of the Hippie Gourmet. Our group had a marvelous time. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a more intimate tour with fewer people so that we might be able to go into the shops with the guide. Some of them looked like a blast.
Thank you so much for your time, energy and passion. |

| I was skeptical of a walking tour thru the Haight since it seemed like a very conventional thing to do about a very unconventional area about a very unconventional time (summer of love). To my surprise, the tour was very educational and fun. Stan was the perfect guide as he described the area's history from the early days of the City up thru the 60's and into the present. I think anyone who lives in the Haight should take this tour just so they know what is all around them. Great tour for anyone interested in this part of history. |

| The enthusiasm of our guide for her community, lifestyle, causes and history made this tour memorable and inspiring. Izu's depth of knowledge was informative and came not from books but from actually having lived through it all. This she conveys to each on the tour personally. You will enjoy the facts, you will enjoy the stories and you will certainly enjoy the company of Izu. |

| My teenaged daughter and I had a great time on the tour. The group was relatively small, so our "far-out" tour guide Izu gave us an indepth look at the Haight. She was there during the summer of love, etc. and had lots of fun stories to tell about the Dead, Janis, Jimi, Hells Angels and The Oracle (among others). We liked the stop at Pam's house with all the cool memorabilia from the sixies. Our tour guide really was awesome -- ask for Izu. She looks like Bebe Neuwirth with this great long, curly hair, tie-dyed shirt and a Yonkers accent. You will NOT be disappointed. She is open to questions and accommodated the kids who needed to go to the bathroom. Go on the Thursday tour at 2:00 p.m. You can grab a bite to eat in the Haight after the tour. |
