| She (Uzi) was great and quite a character, an inspiration. Because I am such a fan of the 60's there were few surprises for me other than some of the historical facts (dating to the turn of the century) about the Stanyan hotel but I'm sure others probably got a lot more out of it. Maybe it was geographicaly infeasible but I would liked to have seen Jefferson Airplane's house and possibly a little more mention of some of the venues the bands played in. But I do love Uzi and would recommend she do an "advanced tour" for nerds like me who already know most of the basics (Grateful Dead, hippies, Summer of Love, etc). I'm pretty sure she has even more detail to fill in the cracks. |

| Izu was our guide and the tour was all about her. Fortunately, she was fascinating. She had been there, done that. Our group was small and she took an extra hour with us. She was a hoot. I already recommended this tour to two people I met on other walking tours the next day. City Guides is wonderful, but I bet their Haight tour cannot compare with the Izu version of the '60s. Will definitely take people on this tour again...only if I can get Izu. |

| Stan was extremely informative, sharing more than just the 1960's but also the history of the Haight community, architecture, and politics. Very friendly, cute, and patient with our questions. Thanks Stan! |

| This tour was very enjoyable - well-paced and full of intimate stories of the characters that made the area famous. We appreciated being brought up to the present on conditions in the neighborhood. The guide was good-natured, patient and well-informed. |

| For those visiting SF for the first time, and unfamiliar with some of the history behind the Haight, this may be a decent walking tour. It does not actually require much walking, and there are frequent stops to discuss the past 40 years of history. The tour does hit the major stops -- including the Grateful Dead house. The people running the operation were nice, funny and, at times, a little bit corny.
However, it was simply "O.K." The "museum" wasn't really much of one -- rather, it was a single room at an Inn with some 1960s images and other general paraphernalia.
Does the tour provide some flavor? Yes. Does one necessarily need the tour to experience the Haight? Perhaps not. There is available -- online -- information on the various sites -- which one can walk without cost. And, after all, isn't something that is "free" more in the spirit of the Haight?
$20? It's your call. I do believe that one can walk away feeling fulfilled -- especially if not motivated to 'do it yourself,' or looking for individual attention and individualized local flavor. |

| It was lots of fun. Enjoyed the walk & the talk. Talk was very informative, with plenty of first hand stories shared. I brought my foreign exchange daughter (age 21) & she like it as well.
Thanks! |
