Disappointing

Save your money for cab fare. Have a cabbie drop you off at at the intersection of Haight - Ashbury and you'll be happy. Our group was small, a dozen or so and half the people wandered off the tour by themselves once we got to the famous corner. I was disappointed but it was only 20 bucks. Only two or three worthwhile stops in my opinion

We had a great time!

The tour was interesting and fun. Izu was both entertaining and knowledgeable. My 15-year-old son who usually dislikes walking tours had a good time and had absolutely no complaints (I think that's a first for him!)

Izu, the tour guide is an authentic hippie with all the wisdom and knowledge to make your visit special. She has vibrant stories and is cautious about giving a realistic and fair image of what the hippie movement is about.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. He had an enormous amount of information and shared it with the group in a way that always made it interesting. Our Guide was very considerate of everyone on the tour and of the people we passed on the street. Everyone seemed to know him. Not only was the information great, the sights, buildings, stores, and houses etc. were fabulous in and of themselves.

Great Albeit a Little Long

Our tour guide was funny and possessed an incredible knowledge of just about everything related to the tour. My only suggestion would be to shorten the tour by about twenty or thirty minutes. Highly recommended. Although my friends were visitors, I am a local of 2.5 years and I learned a great deal on the tour.

I enjoyed the tour but it went over by almost an hour. I thought less information on the arcitecture and more on the 60's and the summer of love would have been better. I did learn more about the city, the Haight and I will come back just to hang out and shop in that area.

Fantastic experience, wonderful guide!

The tour of Haight Ashbury exceeded our expectations! My husband, our 16-year-old son and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our NY-born tour guide Izu was in the Haight in 1967, was at Woodstock and then returned to SF for college where she lived in a commune in the Haight. Anyone can recite information about locations and dates, but only a person who has lived in the Haight more than 30 years can relate firsthand experiences! Izu has tons of wonderful stories. My favorite story was during the Summer of Love, Izu awakened to awesome music. She threw a coat over her pajamas, put on her shoes and walked down to the Panhandle. Jimi Hendrix had showed up unannounced and was playing on a flatbed trailer. Izu knows her stuff! Her love for the Haight, its history and its residents -- past and present -- resonates during the tour.

We loved our tour guide, Izu! She had fun stories and a lot of knowledge about the area. It was cool to hear about the hippie days from someone who had been there. We learned a lot and definitely recommend it.
