Haight Ashbury Flower Power Walking Tour

This tour was so great. The tour director, Izu really knew her stuff and she brought it to life for all of us. We felt like we were back in the good old days. The tour brought us to sites that we had always wanted to see and heard about. We felt at ease and in a pary atmosphere as soon as we were greeted for the tour. I would highly recomment this tour for anyone interested in the history of the area. Thanks for a great experience!

what a great tour. izu is so well versed as a tour guide my memory bank started remembering things that went on in the haight from 1969. my wife and i wish it could have kept on going for hours . dont miss this when your in san fransisco. A+++++++ leon & joanne lewis longview,texas

Izu our guide was exellent, she has a great speaking voice and really knew her history. She also was a great personality. We even sang together. I have already told several people about the tour and they will be going soon. I had a great time.

We had a great time! Izu, our guide, was wonderful! Her anecdotes and historical accounts were colorful, fun, and engaging! We enjoyed every minute of it!

The tour gave us a fascinating insight into the history and present day of the Haight Ashbury area. Our guide (Izu) was great, we had lots of laughs and her insider knowledge of the area made the tour come alive. Izo was the ideal guide, she took us to the must see sights and told us the behind the scenes stories. I would recommend this to anyone, fan of the 60s or not, its not possible to not love this tour. It was truely a trip back to the summer of love!

Fantastic, engaging, eclectic guide (Isuz?). She was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. The tour itself is a bit short on significant locales, but the guide makes the most of what you do get to see. Unfortunately Haight street itself caters a little too much to the tourist element, a fact that should be self-evident when one realizes that one is on a tour . . .

My 9 year old son loved it as much as my husband and I. It was fun and insightful. Eizu our tour guide was great. We learned things about the neighborhood that we would have never known if we just walked around as tourists. It was one of the highlights of our trip to San Francisco. Very cool!!!

We had a great time. Lots of good stories from someone who has been there. And done that! Maybe not for small kids but older yes. Bring the camera. Cool stuff.

Our tour guide (Izu --) made all the difference to our enjoyment of this tour. She conveyed the spirit of the flower power generation and her enthusiasm was contagious. Haight-Ashbury is now a prettified shadow of its former self, so you really do need a tour guide who was there during the height of the hippie days, to make sense of it and appreciate what is still there. I am a Republican, but this was not always the case, and the tour brought back memories of the 60's. It would be interesting to understand better the political climate of the time--- what is it about San Francisco that attracted hippies? Was the city of SanFrancisco more welcoming than other places? What was the political structure within the hippie community? Less emphasis on the Grateful Dead would be good. I had never heard of them as a teenager and they did not really achieve commercial success until the early 70's. I enjoyed the tour immensely and would recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco.
