INTERESTING, INFORMATIVE, BUT TOO LONG!!

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much and we both learned alot. The guide, however, was a non-stop talker and continually tried to impress us with who she knew, etc. It got old after a while. The purpose of the tour was to see and learn about Haight Asbury, not about what she did. The tour was too long for a walking tour with no stops to just sit for a minute or two.

As a 1960s enthusiast, i loved this tour. I love the 1960s and 70s culture, music, ideals; really everything about the era. I have read a lot about the Haight-Ashbury, and learned even more on the tour. Even if you dont know much about the Haight, or are just going there for the day, the tour is a fun way to get introduced to the district and learn a lot of cool history at the same time. Our tour guide Izu was phenomenal and gave everyone true insight into what it was like in the Haight back in the day. I highly recomend this tour!

A Different Sort of Tour!

Izu was lots of fun and very enthusiastic! I enjoyed the Haight-Ashbury trivia and Izu's personal stories about her youth. The Dead house, Hell's Angels' house and the Hendrix/Joplin hang-out were interesting to hear about. It was a great way way to spend a beautiful afternoon, and it brought back memories of my own "era". Be sure to leave some time for shopping either before or after the tour.

Tour guide went above and beyond ,included lots of interesting facts. He was very personable, and certainly not boring. The area of Haight-Asbury was very interesting, and my teenage daughter enjoyed it. This walking tour is something I would reccommend for all age groups. A special thank you for the tour owner for accommodating us when the tour sold out, because of such a big demand at the time.(Summer of Love 40th anniversary) in addition to it being vacation time .We have alot of great pictures to remind us of the walking tour and the Haight area of San Francisco..

Informative but too long

Guide was very informed and it was interesting to hear about the entire history of the area from its founding. But it was too long, still going when we had to leave after 3 1/2 hours. Was just getting into the "Summer of Love" discussion when we had to leave.

Worth it if you have the time

My wife and I took the tour during a week-long stay in San Francisco. The tour was very interesting, and ranged from discussions on architecture, to SF history, to the music history of the area. I would have preferred to hear more about the music (being a fan of the Dead, Joplin, Etc), but that was actually a fairly small part of the tour. I understand that one of the guides focuses more on the music stuff, but our guide seemed more interested in other points of interest. I did really enjoy the tour, and found it worthwhile. The guide was both informative and entertaining. My one complaint was the length of the tour. While billed as 2.5 hours, my wife and I actually bailed out at around the 3.5 hour mark. The first two hours were fascinating, while the last half of the tour was a stroll down a strip of shops, with the guide pointing out what each store sold, what sort of businesses used to occupy the buildings, and other useless info. It grew tedious quickly, and we had to excuse ourselves from the tour. That being said, I did enjoy the tour, it was worth the money, and I would recommend it. Just be prepared to ditch out when the tour approaches 4 hours.

The 'Flower of Power' tour was great! We really liked our tour guide, Izu; she was so interesting and really a lot of fun! We would definitely recommend this tour, and already have. Please keep us updated with events in the Haight-ashbury area. We would love to come back for any upcoming events. Dave, Mary and Christina
