Haight Ashbury Flower Power Walking Tour

I'm not from the hippie generation but wanted to find out about it and all the media that surrounded Haight-Ashbury. The tour guide has been doing the tour for 16 years and not only that he lives/lived in the area. So, he has first hand information about who lived there, what they did, and what the whole era was about. I highly reccomend it no matter what age you are.

Stan was our guide. He was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. I had a friend in from out town and my girlfriend along with me for the tour. This is something I will do for every out of town guest that comes to visit. I came away with a better understanding of the movement and some really cool photos. I would recommend this to locals, tourists, young and old.

Laid back but very thorough, leisurely paced but didn't drag. Izu was a great guide and an interesting, enjoyable person. She was very personable and it's easy to see why she does this type of work and has so many friends along the tour route. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a nice way to spend a couple hours getting aquainted with the "haight" without digging through guide books. Peace out!

The Flower Power Walking Tour takes you to the important places in The Haight, but more than that, Izu, a bonafide hippie, tells you the hows and whys of hippie life as it was in the Summer Of Love and the years following. Her real life stories are non-stop, both fascinating and hilarious. I am local to the Bay Area and took my son and a visitor from England, both 19 years old. Izu's recommendations for restaurants and shopping matched our own local knowledge of the best and funkiest places. We had a great time! Walking tours are the best way to see our beautiful city by the bay!

The tour brought back many fond memories of my youth so it was great in that respect alone but what made it evan better was how many things I learned about SF. Our guide was very knowledgeable, funny and efficient in his delivery. I am planning on going back and taking my son on Labor Day. Thanks again to Stan, may he "Live Long and Prosper"

Very enjoyable tour of the Haight Ashbury neighborhood. The tour guide was extremely knowledgable. Your see all the highlight and lowlights of Haight Ashbury. Our lasting impression was that Haight Ashbury is a real neighborhood full of people who want to live there, follow their own muse and take care of their own.

Izu was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable at the same time. Her passion for the neighborhood and its history quickly became contagious!

As a devoted fan of music and the history of the sixties, this tour was a dream come true! Highly recommended!
