We spent a week in and around the San Francisco area, and the Flower Power Walking Tour was one of the highlights. Our tour guide was excellent - she had lived trough the era and had numerous stories about the Summer of Love. We strongly recommend the tour.

History came to life for a couple of hours, and I couldn't believe it was really where it all started. The streets, the shops, the homes and the people were almost surrealistic. Sorry, Starship. If you liked the music, culture and vibrance of the '60s, then the Flower Power Walking Tour is your flashback ticket.

Stan proved the perfect host. Passionately and personally involved with his subject, his stories and insights brought the 60s and the local art and architectural scene very much to life. A nearly voyeur perspective was achieved. You end feeling as though you lived the times long gone with characters who gave voice to the period. It might be of help for younger visitors to get some perspective from books or older folks to gain the most from the rapid fire barage of information. Lots of nuggets just kept flying by. Don't be afraid to keep at the front of the group so as not to miss any details. A real treat from a real and proud Haight resident of long standing.

We injoyed the Haight-Ashbury tour Immensely. Our guide was a long time resident of the neighborhood and offered many "insider" tidbits to our tour. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to visit a house and learn about some local characters and business owners.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. Isu, the tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and entertaining. It brought back lots of memories about that special time in our lives and the Summer of Love back in the late 60's. She told tale after tale about the happenings in "the Haight", about Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix, and lots about the history of the area from the 1800's. She has an unbelievable memory and is a superb story teller. I would recommend this tour to everyone. We're still talking about it!
