You will not regret. This tour is one of the kind. We loved the tour guide and learned a lot from her ; the tour material was the part of her personal experience and her inside vision of time and people. This was a unique opportunity to get as close as possible to that legendary time.

Authentic Experience for 60's and 70's music fans

I loved the tour guide, so authentic, not someone reading some kind of script, the guide was as real as you can get. She didn't just know about the 60's Hippy movement, she lived it. She was warm and charming and it was a pleasure to be on her tour. I loved her New York accent and her hippy fashion sense. People in the hood shouted hello to her, and she kept us entertained the whole time. The tour length was good value for the price and it ended at a cool Pschycedelic museum where you could sit and look through real memorabilia. She was able to get discounts at some stores in the area as she is well known. Only downside was the guide did not bring her wiener dog. (she sometimes brings him along for the tour)

A True Taste of the Haight

The Flower Power Walking Tour is one of a kind. Izu is a storyteller who often digresses but does so in the most charming of ways. Be prepared to stay a little beyond the 2.5 hours if possible, and prepare yourself for stories of 1970s concerts at Kezar stadium, the Summer of Love and colorful commentary on life between then and now. Despite her circuitous method of guiding, Izu is, in many ways, a voice of reason. "'Craig" of Craigslist lives up the street. Anyone single? Because he is rich! Yes, hippies don't think money is everything but you need it to make the world go 'round, right?" Thank you Izu for sharing your time with us.

I found the Flower Power Tour to be very interesting, though a little drawn out. I would recommend taking the tour with Izu, she is funny and very knowledgeable about the history of Haight-Ashbury having lived there for years and experiencing the Haight in the 60's first hand.

The tour was very informative of the area and covers the highlights of the 60's and 70's. The tour guide was fantastic as she was there and spoke very informatively about the area and the times. Great stories and insight on the historical aspects of the area. Wish it lasted longer to learn more.

Stan was a great guide and I really felt like he enjoyed taking the group through the different parts of the neighborhood and sharing the history he was aware of third person and first person. I highly recommend this tour. It's not at all cookie cutter and really provides a person with more perspective on the history of the area and how it plays into the San Francisco story.

My not so young children (ages 27 and 32) very much wanted to see the Haight/ Ashbury section of San Francisco while on vacation and prodded me into joining them on the Flower Power Tour. We all had a ball! Izu was just the best tour guide and brought the whole music and hippie cultural scene alive. We saw and heard many of the stories to go along with the sights that were a part of this excellent tour and we thank Izu for a great time and a terrific afternoon.

Stan was incredibly knowledgeable about this famous section of SF. I loved hearing about the history of the buildings and all the famous folks who lived there in the past. He also included history of the Bay Area and California and events that occurred many years ago. I highly recommend this tour. It lasted three hours instead of two and a half, which we loved--more for our money!

Take This Tour With An Open Mind

My husband and I were visiting the west coast and knew this would be fun since we were teenagers during the 60's. Isu was a little late and we spent about 20 min. on the corner where we met. This was due to a man in our group who felt the need to add to the discussion over and over and over. Isu also needed to get us moving which she finally did and off we went. The tour is exactly was I thought it would be tons of info on music and the neighborhood's ups and downs. A bit on houses, shopping etc. We enjoyed it because we probably did the same things Isu did back then. My sister-in-law and her family took this tour a few years ago (male guide) and hated it. Their a little uptight, so I understood them not enjoying it. The area where the shops are is run down and there are alot of homeless, but we've seen homeless all over the coast. The tour was fun and Isu did a great job when she stuck to the script - she was fun when she went off script.

Fascinating introduction to area and history

The music of the late 60s is from our youth so the tour of the houses and places in which Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin played was suitably evocative. Isu was a great guide - conjuring up the summer of love and embellishing it with anecdotes. For us it was special to see the Dead's house with the Banksy image of Jerry Garcia and I loved the telegraph pole of messages. We were fortunate to have a beautiful spring day too.
