Good fun, Izu was definitely a character who knew lots of background information and quite clearly loved what she was talking about. Not a strenous walk at all, but a great way to see a really cool neighbourhood. Good length of time and definitely worth the money. If you have even a passing interest in the subject matter, you'll enjoy the talk.

My wife, daughter and I were on a morning our with Izu. She was absolutely fantastic, she helped make our trip to SF memorable, years from now I'm sure Izu will be the only thing we remember, and also Nureyev's breasts on the wall mural.

Stan knew his neighborhood and neighbors well. Along with the great facts , we got waved at several times by his neighbors, it felt personal, fun and seemed like a great place to live!

The lady giving the tour fitted at best for this program and knew a lot about the sixties in the Haight Ashburry. Architectural and historical (outside the Flower Power) was a bit missing

Having grown up in the 1960's, sheltered in a small Texas town, I knew very little about the musicians and movers of the time. I did know their music and loved it! I am now a university professor in Ohio. I took this great tour with my 19 year old son who knows the 60's music better than anyone I know! We were met by our guide Isu and her dog Benny. They led us on a tour of almost 3 hours that took in two decades in Haight-Ashbury. My son and I were fascinated and the time flew by. We could have listened to Isu for hours. She had facts, photos, inside stories, and anecdotes about the characters, music, and architecture that characterize this unique neighborhood and the era that made it famous. What amazed us even more was the fact that everyone in the neighborhood knew Isu and Benny! This even added more to the experience. Quite frankly, Isu made the experience come alive! Her enthusiasm and genuine love of the era and its people were infectious. Our entire tour group loved the tour. This tour is appropriate for anyone with an interest in 1960's music and about the era. The next time I return to San Francisco, I will take the tour again. There is so much more to learn from this enthusiastic, fantastic woman who lived through the era and actually knew the people who made the history!

Stan was our tourguide and he really knew his material. My daughter and her friends (juniors in high school) are doing a project for history class on the Summer of Love. Stan pointed out specific sites and gave them specific information pertinent to their report. He allowed them to film him and provided really credible material and information. On another note, he seemed to know just about everyone in the Haight, so I referred to him as the mayor of the neighborhood. We were grateful to find such a fact-filled tourguide who was also such a history buff and himself a student of all that had happened in that neighborhood. Thank you Stan!!

As a big Jefferson Airplane fan (who got into them in college in the '90s), I've wanted to make a pilgrimage to Haight-Ashbury and Golden Gate Park for years. I knew this wasn't the Jefferson Airplane tour - and that there would be more about the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin/Big Brother than the Airplane - but I was hoping that I could get enough guidance from the tour to inform my pilgrimage. And from that standpoint, it was definitely a success. But the tour did feel a little light on music overall. The background information about San Fran, Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury was all great, and we heard a lot of good stories. But at times it felt like we spent too much time talking about the trees planted in the sidewalk and historical events from 50-150 years ago and not as much time on the Haight heyday. Yes, it was a quality tour packed with information, but it did feel a bit long and a bit light on music info. After the tour though, my wife and I went on an additional tour to see some of the things not covered in the tour, but that we learned about by asking the tour guide.

Your tour guide was great. The whole thing was most informative.I was given information that I told my relatives who live in SF,and they didnt know half the things.I told my SF family to take the tour, just to find out about a part of their city that they do not frequent...Thanks again,Lisa ,NYC.

My wife and I both adored Izu and her very informative tour through the Haight Ashbury region. We were both born in the 60s, and though not old enough to have participated and not having grown up in the West Coast, we are old enough to remember the great music and vibe that came out of there. Izu took us through all the famous haunts, and her stories, taken from actual experience, were wonderful. Our fellow passengers on the tour were also a lot of fun - I will never look at lasagna in the same way again. All the stories were there - the Greatful Dead, Janis Joplin.... It gave us a unique appreciation of the 1967 Summer of Love, as well as a poignant sadness of what has been lost since then. The Haight is a great region, that is brimming with history and some very impressive (albeit sadly expensive) architecture. San Francisco is a very unique city, and this tour just shows why.

Thank you so much for the breadth of detail and knowledge about this character filled area of our state. I loved seeing the photographs that our guide had on hand as well as the visit to the beautiful home of the Hippie Gourmet. Our group had a marvelous time. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a more intimate tour with fewer people so that we might be able to go into the shops with the guide. Some of them looked like a blast. Thank you so much for your time, energy and passion.
