Fantastic tour with Stan

| Ideal mix of local history, interesting locations, and enthusiastic guide. It was great walking through Stan's neighborhood and hearing the history of the area. Out of town guests would really love this walk. Thanks a lot for the experience. | ||||||

| The original tour leader didn't show up but when we called to report this, a replacement tour guide was called. He came around 15 minutes later and he was excellent as he still lives in Haight-Ashbury. His name was Bruce and, if possibe, request his services. I told Bruce that he took a bad situation (nobody showing up) and turned it into an excelent experience. I would strongly recommend this tour! | ||||||

| The tour was a real drag. Our guide showed up almost an hour late, then we got some guy named Bruce who goes by Mr. Hippy. He grew up in San Francisco and lived through the flower power era and, alas, 75 percent of everything he told us revolved around his life at the time. A little bit of that would have been fine but I got tired of his life history, and of his political insertions about his stances on pro medical marijuana and how the Manson murders were used by the establishment to show a consipiracy to defame the hippies. Great, if they'd been couched as "what some people think" but they were all couched from his own frame of reference. We stopped by his house so someone could use the bathroom but ended up stuck there for an hour while he showed us all pictures on his wall and , alas, more stuff about his life. By 2 p.m. — for a tour that was to have started at 11 a.m.— we were still not on the main street and were stuck listening to him talk about how to get psychedelic-inducing seeds from morning glory plants that were growing on a corner fence. Should definitely have skipped this tour and just gone shopping. | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I overall really enjoyed the tour! Our tour guide was a Haight and Ashbury extraordinaire. His personality and love for the area made the tour so much more authentic. The sights to see in such a small area really take you back to the Summer of Love. The Grateful Dead's house, Janis Joplin's house, and the architecture are just a few sights to see on the tour. So if your interests include these things, you’ll love this tour. | ||||||

| The tour was very interesting but the focus was much less on the "Summer of Love" and Hippies than it was on San Francisco architecture and wildlife. The tour guide informed us before we started that he was not in fact in or even around San Francisco during the "Summer of Love" and thus chose not to say much of anything about it. There was some talk about the Hippie culture but there was a heavier focus on building architecture and the types of trees that are grown in the area. All-in-all we thoroughly enjoyed the tour even though we were expecting something quite different. | ||||||

| The day we did this tour the tour guide that normally takes it was not able to attend. We had a guy named Stan instead. Stan was a great tour guide with a wealth of information. We also got the insight from Stan that the area was a close community of people with the frequent friendly waves from people he knew on the street. I would recommend this tour to get a greater understanding of the history within the Haight Ashbury district. It was also nice to stroll around in the morning sunshine and look at all the beautiful colorful victorian houses. | ||||||

| Save your money for cab fare. Have a cabbie drop you off at at the intersection of Haight - Ashbury and you'll be happy. Our group was small, a dozen or so and half the people wandered off the tour by themselves once we got to the famous corner. I was disappointed but it was only 20 bucks. Only two or three worthwhile stops in my opinion | ||||||

| The tour was interesting and fun. Izu was both entertaining and knowledgeable. My 15-year-old son who usually dislikes walking tours had a good time and had absolutely no complaints (I think that's a first for him!) | ||||||

| Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. He had an enormous amount of information and shared it with the group in a way that always made it interesting. Our Guide was very considerate of everyone on the tour and of the people we passed on the street. Everyone seemed to know him. Not only was the information great, the sights, buildings, stores, and houses etc. were fabulous in and of themselves. | ||||||
