Izu and Benny were excellent hosts and we enjoyed the tour immensely! It was wonderfully fun and informative and was one of the highlights of our visit. We highly recommend this tour and will do it again next time we are in town. The whole thing was an absolute delight!!

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. I used to live in SF, so I particularly liked the history of the area, how it was built up from sand dunes and the architecure. My husband likes rock & roll music and was familiar with most of the musicians and groups mentioned, as well as some of the musical landmarks. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the morning, and the guide was very informative and interesting. Plus he knows everyone in the neighborhood, which gives the "big city" a friendlier feel. |

Tour guide: Energetic, knowledgeable, very inclusive of all members of group, tons of fun
Tour sites: The highlights of the 60s Haight-Ashbury, lots of chances for photos, informative stop at the Psychedelic History Museum
Even as a local, I learned more about the history of the neighborhood, of particular buildings, and even sidewalk art! Great tour, highly recommended. |

that was what we were feeling after our tour with our super guide Izu, what a great walk down Memory lane and the coolness factor for my teenage son was off the charts. Learn what hippies were really about, their concern for the planet is so pertinent today. Recommend this highly if you want something different than the standard tours. Great food and shopping in the area! So come early or stay late. |

Very energetic guide! Very interesting, lots of info on the hippie movement. Lots of anecdotes. But we stand a lot! It would have been nice to walk a little more. We could stay 20 minutes without moving....
Would have liked to learn more about the different shops on Haight street.
Very good guide. |

Our tour guide on the Flower Power walking tour was Izoo (is that spelled right?) She was great with her stories, pictures and knowledge! We had a lot of fun and were able to experience a lot of the history of the area up close. We were lucky to have a personal tour that day and would recommend Izoo and the tour to anyone who asked. Great tour and her enthusiasm was infectious! |

too much time standing in one spot as we listened to tour guide talk about irrelevant topics. less talk about Izu, more talk about events and history of HA. |

The tour was very fun and informative, filled with interesting details and tidbits. The sites were well chosen and the entire length, both in time and in walking amount, was perfect. I especially enjoyed the fact that my tour guide, Eizu (or Yzu - I didn't ask which spelling of Suzie/Suzy was spelled backward) was a part of the neighborhood both in the past of which she was speaking and the present. |

Really enjoyed our tour guide Izu -- an old time hippie that really enthusiastically showed us the various different homes that the musicians lived in. The pictures she provided on the tour and the museum we went to were also fun as was her knowledge of so many happenings. Would recommend this tour to anyone. |

We had a wonderful time. We learned so much and felt so well taken care of. She took the extra time and was very patient. She was so enthusiastic. I am sure she has been asked the same questions many times, but she answered as if she was waiting to answer just that question. We would take it again and definitely recommend. Thank you for the great time. Dave and Elizabeth |

Our tour guide Izu was fantastic. She was passionate about the culture and the history. It brought back many moments in history for us that meant alot more by being there. I am 59 and my husband is 42 and we both enjoyed every minute. There was a man and his teenage son in our group too and he saw some of the stuff his Dad had been talking about for years. We even went over in the time the tour was supposed to be but we were ready for more. We stayed in the area after the tour and tried a recommendation by Izu for lunch and it was a wonderful experience. We had so much fun. I would recommend this to anyone that is a hippy, knows a hippy, wants to be a hippy, was a hippy or just loves that era or enjoys the history of the area. |

My girlfriend and I almost didn't wake up for the tour, but decided to at the last minute! We are so happy we did! Eizu was wonderful! She was friendly, so knowledgeable and was a wonderful representative for the Haight-Ashbury community. I especially liked that she never lost her cool and was respectful when one of the homeless people gave his own input on the tour!
If you can go with a smaller group during a weekday, I reccommend doing that like us BUT the experience is wonderful either way I'm sure!!!
Thanks Eizu! |

As a mainstream suburbanite, about 10 years junior to the hippy generation, I (dragging along dear husband) had a very enlightening tour led by a former (or maybe still present) flower child named Eisu (Susie spelled backwards, drop the "S"). Eisu really knew her stuff and was very passionate about it-both past and present issues, having had firsthand experience. Plus she was amusing. I have always liked the music created during the time, and it was great to learn more of the culture. I once had a friend who as a teen runaway lived in a commune in one of the abandoned Victorian buildings (today probably worth millions and occupied by a different kind of hippy--high income person) and had been so intrigued by what her life was like here, that it was a deciding factor on taking this tour. Also I learned the meaning of 4:20, later texted my college-student daughter on whether she knew. Of course she did, as she is not the little prude I was in college. |
