Great trip for a summer afternoon

| From the ranger on the boat who hosted the trip and filled our minds with harbour island factoids to the friendly hosts from the Coast Guard Auxilary who lined the beach to welcome us and conducted tours of the island and the light house itself..... Everyone was informative, entertaining, warm and welcoming. We also had a harbour island volunteer host on the island to share her knowledge.
The boat is small but keeps the tour to a manageable size. The trip out is a good 45 minutes and you land the boat on the beach... no dock.
The lighthouse was a great climb with outstanding 360 views of the harbour... but you need to be in good shape and comfortable with ladders!!! The first group to tour the lighthouse (there were 4 groups total) had one lady who had a panic attack going down which delayed the rest of the groups by 15 minutes so they could calm her down and coax her back to earth. So beware.... but it was well worth the wait.
There are numerous picnic tables to enjoy while on the island, but no food or bathrooms. You are on the Island for about an hour which was too short.... I could have stayed there all day.
It was our first trip to any island even though we are local, but it gave us a new sense of the potential for more weekend tours of other islands. We will definitely will do some more exploring in weeks to come. |

| My family and I loved the Boston light tour! The volunteers and park staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable great to be around. It was a wonderful adventure that we won't soon forget. It was a great way to finish off our trip to Boston. |

| Enjoyed the narrative tour on the way to the lighthouse. Had plenty of time to explore the island, but would have liked to have had more time in the lighthouse.
Very enjoyable. Would be good for locals and tourists, families, children, couples, friends. Those with walking limitations would want to avoid trying to climb the 70+ lighthouse stairs and the 2 ladders. |

| The tour takes up only 3 hours of your precious time, yet it gives back so much more. Little Brewster Island is rich in history, character, and beauty - it is a must see for locals and visitors alike! |

| The beauty of our Harbor Islands really came through once we passed George's and Lovells Islands. Little Brewster is such a gem, and the care that is doted upon this little jewel of an island is obvious by the way the park rangers, tour guides and volunteers share their enthusiasm, knowledge and appreciation for the history and geography of this park. |

| I had read about Boston Light in the AAA magazine and was determined to take myself and my husband. It did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived at Fan Pier we were greeted by friendly guides.I wish I could remember all their names .They took extra care in pointing out the points of interest along the way-showed us maps,etc. We wre thrilled to climb the lighthouse and the most lovely enthusiastic woman was at the top full of information and smiles. The views were amazing. As we walked around we were met with only friendly faces and one kind gentleman even OFFERED to take our picture together. This was especially nice cause we are always too shy to ask...I believe his name was Jay.
I am now interested in going to more of the harbor islands. All and al la special day. |

| I've lived in this area for over 30 years and have never ventured into the harbor. It was a great experience. I loved learning about the history of the area AND seeing the great views. We had a beautiful day! Climbing up the lighthouse was easier than I thought it would be and although I thought I might be afraid of the heights, I wasn't. I would recommend it to anyone. |

| Very enjoyable trip. The staff on the boat and the Island were all excellent - informative, friendly, perfect for the experience! I do think it is a bit pricey, but worth it; I hope some of the fee goes to preserving the lighthouse. FYI... Be prepared - the boat to/from the Island was smaller than I expected; only 1/2 the tour could sit in "covered" section. Being outside was great, but I like boating. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses if you go on a warm sunny day. |
