Fun activity for couples on a date!

| My boyfriend and I are always looking for fun, inexpensive outdoor activities in or around Boston. Since I love lighthouses, my boyfriend booked this for one day during our summer vacation. It was extremely fun and romantic. The guides were knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and funny! The lighthouse keeper's dress code is something else!
The tour is 3 hours long and there are no bathrooms on the island so I suggest to visit the restrooms before you get on the boat and don't drink anything after that or you are in trouble! If you can, bring a lunch for a picnic as the actual tour of the lighthouse takes about 1/2 hour and you have a lot time to kill on the small island.
If you bring children or elders, make sure they can climb stairs (75 steps and two ladders) to get to the top but the view is worth the climb.

| Since going through a good chunk of the harbor is necessary to reach Little Brewster Island, where the Lighthouse is, I got to get a good passing view of other islands I intend to visit. I went to Spectacle Island later that day in fact. The Coast Guard personnel also were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was a very informal experience, even though they told our group what a busy day, like on July 4, was like. It's a great place to go if things maritime and Boston pique your interest. |

| You can see the Boston downtown from the light house.
The island is isolated which is perfect for people who like quite. |

| We really enjoyed this activity loved the walk up the Light House the knowledgable and
helpful staff were excellent. We highly recommend this tour. Where good walking shoes! |

| The Island and light house were fantastic and I would recommend. Just a few comments about the experience.
The tour was scheduled for 1:30pm and was late. Something about issues with online registration etc. At the last minute the Ranger asked everyone to use the public bathroom because the one on the boat was for emergencies. Well 10 women tried to get to the bathroom my wife and other in our party were last in line. Now we have the Capt. running the boat telling us he was leaving etc. rushing us. They should have mentioned the bathroom issue in advance. Two other minor details, the boat is very small doing expect a large vessel , by the time we got on the boat it was standing room only.
You will be on it for 1 hr.
There is absolutely no place to use the bathroom inside or out on the island so go easy on the liquids especially the kids.
The ranger was very informative, interesting and new the history about the harbor and islands, the bad part was the Marine radio volume was very loud and I missed a lot of what was saying. The coast guard reserve people are volenteers and were very nice. |

| A relaxing & informative boat ride through Boston Harbor out to Little Brewster Island. The keeper & her assistants were as enthusiastic about their lighthouse, as we were about being there. |

| It has been my second trip and loved it as much the second time as I did the first. great to be able to see the light up close. The auxillary personnel were great. |

| What a great day trip!!! Take the ferry over to the island and you
get off and Wow! I t is amazing to be able to walk the island and explore.
Then to get to climb the lighthouse is excellent and to look out !!!!
Just a super day trip!!!
