| I knew that the visit would be spectacular--and it was. It was a beautiful day and perfect for my wife, 2-year-old-son, adult cousin, and his wife. What shocked me more than anything was the amazing service and kindness of the tour guides. The ratio of guides to guests was approximately 1 to 4, respectively. As a result, the guides answered all our questions, and they were extremely accessible and knowledgeable. Most of all, we really valued how delighted they were to have us be with them on their tour. Thank you so much for everything. We had a wonderful time and we will be heartily recommending you to everyone we know that comes to Boston to visit. This activity was the highlight of our vacation!! Our only recommendation would be this: Please either fix the speakers in the back of the boat or warn those sitting back there that they will not hear the narration. We were sitting in the back. Even though we enjoyed the unobstructed view, we didn’t understand a thing that the guide was saying and we were disappointed. | ||||||

| Our mother/daughter group enjoyed the excursion immensely. The staff and Sally gave alot of information that made the trip most enjoyable. We were in Boston for a four day vacation and the sun shone only on the day we went to the Light!!! So that really made for a great time. JUST don't forget....no flip flops!!! | ||||||

| My husband and I decided to go on the lighthouse tour at the suggestion of our daughter who lives in MA. We couldn't have had a more beautiful day and the trip couldn't have been better. It was very well organized and everyone involved was very knowledgable. The time on the island flew by and we hated to leave. Hope to bring my grandson's and do the tour again. Thanks again for a wonderful day! | ||||||

| this was the last tour of the season to the lighthouse in spectacular weather, a great experience in itself; what made it so outstanding were the staff, both lighthouse (coast guard), rangers, volunteer, and boat crew: it was a special trip for my 82 y/o mother from Germany, and everyone went out of their way to assist her getting onto and off the boat in the harbour and on the island; we also had a 2 y/o with us, and again, everyone was so accommodating, especially the volunteer who engaged her with toys and made the boat trip seem shorter for her; in addition, the welcome on the island, the presentations and explanations, as well as the organization of the trip were wonderful; this trip was recommended to us and we will definitely recommend it to others! Thanks again! | ||||||

| As an out-of-state tourist, the web directions to your departure location were very helpful. (Withoug Fan Pier having a sign, it would have been very difficult to find! ) I would suggest that Fan Pier have some kind of sign. The weather was perfect. We very much appreciated the Rangers and Coast Guard personnel...all were very helpful, considerate, and well-informed. The method of handing out bracelets to indicate time to climb the stairs to lens room really worked well....we were given plenty of viewing time. THANK YOU for a really well-spent 3 hours. We hope to repeat our trip with you. | ||||||

| We had a great time. The tour was interesting and the weather was great. The combo made the day to be a great trip out on the harbor. It was awesome to see Boston from the water. On the boat we sat outside. The only problem with this is that we could not hear anything that the tour guide was saying on the trip out. Maybe this could be fixed. Climbing the lighthouse was very cool. This was a fun day trip in Boston! Something a bit different! | ||||||

| Our trip out to the Boston Light was great and we were provided with a lot of information on the Harbor as we traveled out to the island. The Island itself and the opportunity to climb to the top of the Lighthouse was the best. Of course, the weather for October was fantastic, so I'm sure that added to our enjoyment. Everyone was polite and ammusing. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in history and a desire to see nature (not to mention Boston from the water!) | ||||||

| After a short ferry ride to the island (park ranger provides commentary on surrounding islands en route) all passengers meet in the boat house for further instructions. You are divided into groups and while group 1 is climbing group 2 is listening to a presentation by a park ranger, etc. You are given some free time to take photos or picnic as well. There are retired Coast Guard members stationed at various spots to answer questions about the island. If you plan to climb the lighthouse you must reserve your spot in advance. You are presented with a diagram of what to expect when climbing the lighthouse. There are 76 spiral stairs and two ladders! You can easily turn around if the ladder scares you but to my knowledge no one on our tour did so. When you reach the top you are rewarded with incredible views but I must admit it was higher than I thought (about the height of a 5 story building if I remember correctly). Heights do not bother my husband but it really got to me so I didn't stay up there very long. Of course I am glad that I went up but if you are at all afraid of heights then just get some nice pictures from ground level. Ask one of the Coast Guard representatives about the two dogs who are buried on the island. It is an interesting story. | ||||||
