We enjoyed the plantation house tour and slave quarters tour. The kids were bored on the boat tour. |

Carolina Belle captain and crew were great! Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. Very friendly. I would have enjoyed more manicured gardens at Boone Hall but enjoyed learning the history of the land and its current status. |

We went on both the Harbor tour and the plantation. The boat trip was fun and informational. We had never been to that area and seen fort Sumpter so that was very interesting. There was smooth sailing and my wife experienced no "sea sickness" at all.
The plantation was the better of the two, we thought. Although it had rained and the roads were a little muddy, it was a good time. On the riding tour around the grounds, we got soaked even though there was a roof over us, because we sat on the front seats. Even then we enjoyed it thoroughly. |

We thoroughly enjoyed the Harbor boat tour. The boat's captain was knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. He continually added extra notes of interest, played a few games and safely returned us to shore. We will take this tour again should be return to Charleston. The plantation tour was very interesting and well presented. Seeing some American history was well worth the trip. |

Boone Hall Plantation was amazing! If you're a history fan ( and a "North and South" miniseries fan ) it's a must!
The harbor tour was very relaxing. Again, if you like history you'll enjoy it. Very informative. |

The harbor tour was well received by my family. It was fun and informative. The plantation tour was disappointing. We were only able to tour five rooms, and that includes the foyer, and a hallway. The tram tour was nothing more than a view of the crops they currently grow. On the bright side, the slave quarters were a real experience. It was quite interesting, and their recordings that were in each quarters, was informative. The general consensus of my family is that they need to adjust their plantation tour more towards a historical perspective. The house guide was quite knowledgeable. The gift shop was more of a corner store. Again, they could make changes to best represent their product. My wife, daughter in law and son went to the butterfly cafe, where the running joke was there was one butterfly, and a turtle. |

Though it was a chilly day, we bundled up and went for our boat tour first. The enthusiasm and humor of the captain was outstanding, and we enjoyed all the knowledge of the area that he shared with us. I wish that the boat had more to purchase to eat, but I understand it wouldn't be feasible for them to have a huge selection. Also, I must mention how kind and accommodating the members of the crew were. We were all impressed.
We spent too long stopping somewhere to eat in Charleston and therefore missed out on a few hours we could have spent at Boone Plantation. We were able to catch the last 2 tours of the day. I don't feel I can adequately review it because of that, but i will admit that based on the website we expected a little more. |
