Great, affordable combo tour

What a great combination tour this was !! Affordable, historic, entertaining and very good plantation and harbour tour operators / narrators. Boone Hall Plantation: We got there at 2pm and left at 5:30pm. In that time frame we took the tram ride (which had Michael as the guide and he was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the historical aspects of Boone Hall, insightful with his own interpretations as well as comical, injecting some humor now and again), toured the mansion with another female guide, who's name slips my mind, walked the grounds including the slaves quarters as well as listed to Mr. Murray's 1 man show. My wife and kids, 16 and 14, enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. Harbor Tour: Our 11:30am tour began on time and lasted 1.5 hours. It was a nice presentation and very scenic. We were taken to the mouth of the harbor a few hundred feet from Fort Sumter, (check out the FREE Fort Sumter Museum, about 1 football field away from the Harbor Tour ticket office) the Destroyers and USS Yorktown air craft carrier, up to and under the Charleston Harbor Bridge and saw 4 dolphins along the way.

It would be very helpful to let people pick up tickets at either the plantation or the harbor.

i really enjoyed the Harbor Tour and Boone Hall Plantation Tour, must see for all visitors to Charleston. I recommend that you do the tours early in the day during the summer before it gets too hot.

The combination package looked like an attractive way to get a good taste of the Charleston area. We took the harbour tour portion first, and I was some what disappointed. Not sure what I expected, but since the fort seemed to be the biggest element of the tour, I would have like to have sailed around it and heard more details of the fort and the battle. The plantation tour was fantastic. The house tour was very informative even if we were limited to the first floor (the 2nd are actual living quarters for the residents of the home). Everything offered should be experienced, the show, the carriage tour and slave quarters in addition to the house tour to get the full effect. Leave 3-4 hours, and bring plenty of film!

As first time visiters to Charleston, S.C. we were looking for a variety of ways to enjoy the city and surrounding area. On the first day of our vacation, my boyfriend and I toured the Boone Hall Plantation in the morning and took the Harbor Tour that afternoon. We were delighted to find so many different activities to do and see at the Plantation! The house and gardens tour were lovely, the displays educational, and the tram tour of the grounds was very entertaining! We enjoyed relaxing in the shade while watching the Gulah show, and were even chosen to come up on stage to participate! There was plenty to do to fill the morning, but we never felt rushed to see everything before leaving to go to the Harbor Tour. We would recommend going early to avoid the hot sun and crowds. We booked the 3:30pm Harbor Tour, to allow time to grab lunch on the way back to town. Also, avoiding the hottest part of the day to be on the boat. The Harbor Tour was the perfect lengh of time. It gave us a very nice view of the entire harbor area, along with informative naration by the boat captain. We even had a chance to see a couple of the Tall Ships in full sail, coming into the harbor! We would definitly recommend this combo tour for first time visiters to Charleston!

We really love the Harbor Tour, It was very informative. Was a little disapointed in the Boone Plantatation House, would have like to seen more of it. The grounds were great the Ave of Oaks, My favorite was the Slave Street. I can't imagine what these people had to indure.

The boat ride was nice, the most exciting part was seeing the dolphins swimming around. The captain had a great deal of knowledge on Charleston and that made it interesting. I had two teenage boys with me so they thought that it was the most boring thing ever. To me the Boone-Hall plantation was a waste of money. I didn't know until we got there that this plantation house is only a replica of what we would have seen in the 1700's. This house was built in 1936. We had a visitor pass out and, because I am a nurse, I stayed with her until the ambulance arrived so I was only able to see two rooms of the house. My family told me that I really didn't miss anything, just a bunch of talking. The slave cabins and the beautiful drive way was the only interesting parts for me. I can't say that I would recommend this package. To me it was overpriced.

Reasonably priced snacks on board. 10 and 11 year old kids attentive and enjoyed the experience. Top deck is open air, bring a windbreaker to enjoy best views comfortably, even in good weather.
