Great way to spend a day

Though it was a chilly day, we bundled up and went for our boat tour first. The enthusiasm and humor of the captain was outstanding, and we enjoyed all the knowledge of the area that he shared with us. I wish that the boat had more to purchase to eat, but I understand it wouldn't be feasible for them to have a huge selection. Also, I must mention how kind and accommodating the members of the crew were. We were all impressed. We spent too long stopping somewhere to eat in Charleston and therefore missed out on a few hours we could have spent at Boone Plantation. We were able to catch the last 2 tours of the day. I don't feel I can adequately review it because of that, but i will admit that based on the website we expected a little more.

The Boone Hall Plantation is filled with southern charm. Its home and gardens are beautiful. The views aboard the Carolina Belle are breathtaking! What a fun time.

We enjoyed our trip; however, the mosquito bites were very painful as we had a picnic at Boone Hall.

The Captain of the boat is so friendly and I like him. The Boone Hall Plantation has few flowers to see in garden.

Pleasant Cruise and a must see plantation

The cruise was very nice, especially since we took an early one that day due to the heat. The boat was very stable in the harbor, and hit the highlights along the shore and in the harbor during the cruise. If you have not seen any of the plantations, see Boone Hall. The house is a restoration, but the new exhibit on the slave cabins is amazing, and we abolutely loved the Gullah Theater show.

We liked both the tours. The people that led them were very educated on the history, which was very helpful. However, we thought it was pretty crummy that we couldn't take pictures in the home on the plantation. We understand the need for privacy of the people living there, but if they already have the upstairs blocked off & they're going to let people see the 1st floor anyway, pics should be allowed. My mother is handicapped & can't in person see these things. She always wanted to see a plantation. I'm not looking foward to giving her the bad news of no pics to show her. Other than the home being a disappointment, we were pleased with the tours.
