The combination package looked like an attractive way to get a good taste of the Charleston area. We took the harbour tour portion first, and I was some what disappointed. Not sure what I expected, but since the fort seemed to be the biggest element of the tour, I would have like to have sailed around it and heard more details of the fort and the battle.
The plantation tour was fantastic. The house tour was very informative even if we were limited to the first floor (the 2nd are actual living quarters for the residents of the home). Everything offered should be experienced, the show, the carriage tour and slave quarters in addition to the house tour to get the full effect. Leave 3-4 hours, and bring plenty of film! |

As first time visiters to Charleston, S.C. we were looking for a variety of ways to enjoy the city and surrounding area. On the first day of our vacation, my boyfriend and I toured the Boone Hall Plantation in the morning and took the Harbor Tour that afternoon. We were delighted to find so many different activities to do and see at the Plantation! The house and gardens tour were lovely, the displays educational, and the tram tour of the grounds was very entertaining! We enjoyed relaxing in the shade while watching the Gulah show, and were even chosen to come up on stage to participate! There was plenty to do to fill the morning, but we never felt rushed to see everything before leaving to go to the Harbor Tour. We would recommend going early to avoid the hot sun and crowds.
We booked the 3:30pm Harbor Tour, to allow time to grab lunch on the way back to town. Also, avoiding the hottest part of the day to be on the boat. The Harbor Tour was the perfect lengh of time. It gave us a very nice view of the entire harbor area, along with informative naration by the boat captain. We even had a chance to see a couple of the Tall Ships in full sail, coming into the harbor! We would definitly recommend this combo tour for first time visiters to Charleston! |

The cruise was very nice, especially since we took an early one that day due to the heat. The boat was very stable in the harbor, and hit the highlights along the shore and in the harbor during the cruise. If you have not seen any of the plantations, see Boone Hall. The house is a restoration, but the new exhibit on the slave cabins is amazing, and we abolutely loved the Gullah Theater show. |

We loved Boone Hall. There was lots to see and do. Gulla presentation by Sharon was the highlight. Enjoyed tour of produce fields but had to wait for driver twice. Did not run on half hour.
Tour of harbor was so-so. Not enough to see except for bridge and Ft. Sumter. Would have been okay if weather wasn't so hot; the boat moved too slowly for a cooling breeze. Did reservations on line because flyer didn't give enough info. Probably could have bought tickets at dock and saved $4.00 processing fee.
Would definitely recommend Boone Hall, Harbor Tour not so much. |

Our family really enjoyed the Harbor Cruise around Charleston. The staff was very friendly and attentive and went out of their way to make our seven-year-old daughter feel special! The captain provided a very interesting narrative during our cruise and the first mate and other crew members were extremely polite and pleasant. The Boone Hall plantation was beautiful. We really enjoyed our tram ride around the plantation and had a great guide who was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The plantation home is lovely, as are the gardens, and our daughter was especially intrigued by the slave quarters and we all enjoyed seeing the plantation home guides in their period-costumes. The Butterfly cafe was a nice suprise, also. Overall, we had a very nice time and I would definately reccomend it to anyone! |

The combo gives good value for a low price (compared with similar trips)
We had nice weather and really enjoyed the harbor tour. Boone Hall plantation wasn't the first plantation tour we did. It would have been nice if the house had been 200 years old, but we knew that it wasn't before we did the tour, so we weren't disappointed. Lots of info during the tour through the house. No extra payments for the bustour on the plantation.
No hesitations to recommend the Charleston Harbor Tour & Plantation Tour |

Mom and I found the harbor tour informative and extremely pleasant and well run. We purchased a combination harbor /plantation tour package only to discover that we paid for an entry fee for the plantation tour, but there was no transportation or any recommendation as to how to get to the plantation! As we were without a vehicle, we ended up not using the entry fee ticket purchased. Please drop the purchase of the plantantion entry fee as part of the combination package. |
