Between the Harbor Tour and the Carriage Ride I believe you get the basics of historic Charleston. This was certainly provided most adequately. Unless you're a Civil War buff I'm not sure you need a separate Fort Sumpter tour. I was a bit dissappointed that the fee for this was $4 cheaper in a brochure (2008) in my bed and breakfast yet this was not the price either on line or at the Harbor Tour center.

I thoroughly enjoyed both tours, and I am glad you combined the tours for the low price I paid to take both tours. I enjoyed both tours equally well. I did not like one tour more than the other, although the carriage tour was much shorter than the harbor tour. We had beautiful weather for both tours; and it was very relaxing on the boat while viewing the beautiful and historic sights around the harbor. I was impressed with the beautiful homes we saw on the carriage tour; I might add I was also impressed with the knowledge of the tour guides and the behavior of the horses who pulled the wagon full of people. I recommend the combo tour to every visitor to Charleston.

The guides on both tours were well-studied and full of factual and anecdotal information. We had fun while we learned a lot. We will definitely do thiese tours again!

The length of the harbor and carriage tour was sufficient to get an interesting overview of Charleston's historical significance in USA.

We thought we would see more of the city of Charleston. Buildings were too far off and there were several parts with nothing to see.

Couple on a Date |
We had only a couple of days to explore Charleston so the Harbor tour was perfect for a look at that aspect of the city, some history and also Fort Sumpter, which we didn't have time to visit by itself. The carriage ride took us through parts of the historic city and our driver was a great guide. Afterwards my husband and I walked around the whole area and visited more thoroughly the places she recommended.
