We had an informative, comfortable harbor tour. The captain seemed to be very knowledgable and the boat was more than adequate. It could, however, use a few coats of paint and an interior upgrade. We also enjoyed the carriage ride. The mules were well behaved and provided a fun ride. The "driver" was very good and had a deep knowledge of Charleston and its history. |

Harbour tour was good, informative and easy to get too. Really enjoyed the carraige tour. Tickets were easy to pick up and had no troubles at all. |

My best friend and I came to Charleston to celebrate our 30th birthday year and booked these tours as part of the experience. The carriage ride was interesting and informative though you do not get to pick what part of the city you want to see. It is determined at random. That was the only slightly disappointing feature of the experience, but we drew the south battery area and had an extremely friendly guide. The harbor tour was just as wonderful. The boat provided both upper and lower seating, so you could choose to be in the sun or out. Please keep in mind that if you choose the upper deck, you need to wear sunscreen, there is not shade and we both were burnt by the end of the day. Our guide on this tour was both friendly and funny and asked trivia questions but fun fact for kids and adults alike, providing free snack bar food as the prize. I recommend both these experiences highly to anyone visiting downtown Charleston area. You won't regret the experience. |

We enjoyed the tours very much. Having the parking included in both tours made my husbands day! |

Boat Ride -Bad weather that morning all the while driving to Charleston, then it quit raining and the sun came out slightly. We enjoyed the boat ride, but the commentary was so monatone and somewhat boring. He talked so fast we mostly wondered what did he say. We would not do this again or recommend it. Absolute waste of time. Too long on a boring ride.
Carraige Ride
Pretty interesting and our guide was knowledgeable and funny. We all enjoyed this A LOT more than the boat ride. The only problem was we went to the harbor. The only part of the city we had already seen on the boat. I know it is a lottery but when most everyone had came off the boat, then we certainly would have enjoyed another part of the city more. We did enjoy the houses, architecture, flowers, wrought iron, doors, courtyards etc. Charleston is a beautiful city, we will be back but not on the boat ride. This was our second carraige ride and I would recommend Palmetto carraiges. |

I wish when buying tickets for the "combo" that the company would have told me that the window for carriage rides closes at 5pm. If so I would have just bought tickets for the harbor tour and saved around $30. My wife and I booked a harbor tour for 3:30 which last until 5:15-5:20pm. I just assumed (like any other carriage service in the city) that they would offer carriage rides in the evening but I found out the hard way and left feeling screwed.
Also, the Captain/tour guide on our harbor tour made a series of sexists remarks that were quite uncomfortable. I have no idea what he was thinking. We left scratching our heads on the whole experience. |

Both the carriage ride and harbor cruise were enjoyable and operated by very organized and well-run companies. Took the shared carriage ride first, and given a nice condensed history of Charleston while seeing the many beautiful homes along the way. A private carriage ride would have been nicer, but much more expensive so we decided to give this a try. We were fortunate to have the entire back row to ourselves (2 of us), while other families were a little squeezed in the rows in front of us. Took the 3:30pm cruise later in the day and only complaint was the boat did not offer many seats outside that provided shade from the intense sun. If I'm going to take a boat ride I like to sit outside and enjoy the open air, however almost all of the seats outside did NOT offer any protection. Many folks started the trip outside, but later moved downstairs (closed air-conditioned cabin) to escape the sun and high temperatures. Overall I would recommend this combination tour to 1st timers to Charleston to get a feel for the city. |

We thoroughly enjoyed it - Captain was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to point out and give as many details as he could - would gladly take the tour next time we're in town. |
