We took a mid-day Harbor Tour boat ride, which alternated between windy and calm depending on the direction the boat was headed. Our captain provided a good overview of the history of the city although we did discover that some of fun trivia facts were also provided on the land tour. Distances between landmarks and boat were too great to get a good picture. I expected we might have gotten a bit closer to the land. I would recommend it for the investment of time and price. |

I went on this tour with my husband and our son, who is a College of Charleston student. It rained most of the time (this tour goes on even in the rain) but since it was not too cold, we were able to put on the hoodies and stand up front on the rail. The wind was exhilarating and the slow speed of the boat was very relaxing. The captain narrated tales of the battles fought on the shores and described the shipping functions in a clear and informative way. We all learned something and had a good time as well. I would not recommend this tour for very small children; it's too long to hold their attention and the one on our tour was vocal about her boredom. Hope to take my parents on this trip when they come down in May for graduation. |

We had 4 grandparents (youngest 70) and two 3 year-olds with my husband and I. It was very much enjoyed by the grandparents! Thank goodness I had brought toys for the 3 year-olds as they were not at all interested in the ride once the boat got going. If you have people with difficulty walking, this is a great way to learn about Charleston. The carriage rides are good as well but aren't climate controlled! |

The harbor tour was ok; a bit too long, especially for the children. The narrator did not have a loud, clear voice, and we missed some of the narration. He seemed to be ahead of the boat......by the time we passed what he described, we had forgotten what it was. However, the boat was air-conditioned, which was very good, and there was room to move around. I think as a rapid tour it was pretty good, and did give some history of Charleston. More adult oriented than for kids, but not a bad way to get an overview of the city. |

My family had a lovely time on the tour, the captain was very knowledgeable. The boat does not stop at Fort Sumter, so if you really wish to see the Fort I would take a different cruise, this was a disappointment. You can only get to the Fort by boat. I also would have spent a little extra and taken the horse carriage tour around town. I fell like we missed quite a bit. Charleston is very tourist oriented; everything worth seeing is part of a tour, and it pricey. I suggest to anyone to do your homework, find out what you want to see and budget for it. |

We had a great time. The kids were thrilled because we saw dolphins before we even left dock. They love that. It was a nice paced boat ride. Not too fast where everything was a blur. We had a great experience. Kids also loved that there were food and drink aboard. We fed the kids lunch on the boat which kept them from boardem, you know how a two and five year old could be. It really was perfect.
No complaints, worth the money. Great photos taken...all n all excellent time had by all! |

The Harbour tour was very informative and the guide very entertaining I just thought
it would have been better to have a stop such as a stop on Fort Sutmner instead of having to take another tour to see Fort Sutmner. It should be combined as a Harbour tour and a stop at Fort Sutmner with a tour there and then back.
Also more parking required in Charleston if you just want to walk around. |

I enthusiastically recommend the Historic Charleston Harbor Tour. Don't be fooled into thinking you have to be on the BIGGEST- PRETTIEST boat. In all honesty, this may not have been either of those things- but it was air conditioned below deck & it had a mini bar above deck- with tables, friendly staff & plenty of seating. The boat was great! The tour was beautiful- you will see everything you wish from historic homes to Ft. Sumter to the Ravenel Bridge to the USS Yorktown. It was the perfect amount of time & just at little more than 90 minutes. Even more appreciated these days- they took off on time, as scheduled. The narrator, if you will, was very informative. I have lived in Charlotte for 12 years & have visited my father in law in Charleston for just as many yrs. I've heard all the tours, seen all the sites. I took my mother who'd never been there on this & she ATE IT UP. Go- the price couldn't be better either. You'll love it. |
