Boat ride was nice, but narration was a bit dry

I found the tour to be a bit dry, but then I'm not real into history. I think I was expecting to be closer to the shore and better able to see some of the buildings that were pointed out. I also think I was looking for something less educational and more comedic, like Duck Boat tours I've taken in other cities. The ride was enjoyable though and quite relaxing.

The employees on the boat were very friendly. The gentleman who discussed the historical information had an entertaining voice. The crowd was perfect, not too busy but not alone. Not many younger kids,, kept peace and enjoyment available. I definitely feel I got my moneys worth with this tour, and I recommend it!

Entertaining and Informative

We've been to Charleston a number of times and previously had explored the city "on our own". This time we decided to take a couple of the tours available, including "The Original Charleston Walking Tour" and "The Charleston Harbor Tour". Both were excellent. Just the right combination of history and entertaining storytelling by very quaified tour guides. We wrapped up our weekend getaway by having lunch at Fleet Landing - on the harbor a short distance from the boat dock - the pecan pie with vanilla ice cream is incredible!

I've been taking Charleston Harbor tours since my 1st grade field trip 350 years ago. This was probably my kids' second or third trip. The boat used to go up the Ashley a little, around the harbor, then back up the Cooper to the Navy Yard. This tour is a faint shadow of the old one. Didn't even turn into the Ashley and forget about the Navy Yard! We got close to the new bridge (not under), then promptly headed home. I don't know whether this is just a different operator, fuel costs, or what; but I'll do some more research before I go with these guys again. Maybe another company still does it the old way. That said, the boat was OK and the crew seemed friendly (in a smile for the tourists kind of way). Face it: this was a slow boat ride in the harbor on a sunny day, so the trip could've been really, really bad and still been pretty good. Strange thing- it sounded like the same guy is doing the narration as we had on Mrs Barnette's field trip in 1963. I wonder how they pulled that off?

Wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The information on their website was accuate and gave great details about many aspects of the tour: what to wear, what to bring, what you'd see, where to park, who to call if you got lost, etc. etc. The ride was comfortable and the tour gave great information about the Harbor. The ticket price was very reasonable as well as the food & beverage that was available. Free parking too! I HIGHLY recommend this event...be sure to wear sunscreen!

We have visited Charleston several times in previous years, but never took the time to take the Harbor Cruise. It was well worth the time and effort to see more of the surrounding shoreline and history of this great city. We certainly would recommend it as part of anyones travel plans while in Charleston.

We really enjoyed the tour. The boat ride was relaxing and informative. Having refreshments and snacks on board was great. It was a great way to take in the sites and take a break from all of the walking.

Very pleasant being on water. Learned many interesting facts about Charleston. Liked sitting on exposed upper deck. Take hat and wear sunscreen.

It was very easy for our family to order tickets for our weekend Charleston Harbor Cruise. I followed directions and printed off our e-ticket. All of our questions concerning our cruise were answered along with our e-ticket.. All of this extra info was greatly appreciated. The directions were very helpful also. When we reached the location for the tour, all I had to do was present them with the e-ticket! I would highly recommend this service!
