worth the money

All three - the Harbor cruise, the carriage ride and the Plantation visit - are MUSTS for a visit to Charleston. The tour guides were informative, interesting and personable. The fact that the tickets are "open" made it even easier to enjoy all three. We didn't have to do everything in one day.

Very enjoyable cruise

My husband I and really enjoyed the day. The only thing I thought should be different is the speaker system. You have to remember that people have a hard time hearing, some more than others, and being on top with the sound of the engine and just the wind you could hardly hear what the tour guide was saying. I have exceptional hearing and I had a hard time. My husband never heard anything. All in all a nice thing to do in Charleston. I would go again just next time sit close to the speakers.

The Harbor Tour was just okay. It's certainly not their fault we saw no dolphins. There just wasn't as many interesting things to see that I thought there would be. Ft. Sumter was there and the Ravenal Bridge was interesting. The Plantation Tour was much shorter than I thought it would be. We only got to see 3 rooms. I expected something similar to Monticello, etc. However, Pam, the Plantation Tour leader, was terrific. I really enjoyed her commentary.

We enjoyed the boos and blues BBQ dinner cruise and would recommend this for couples of any age. The food was delicious and the staff were great! Also, the band playing was entertaining! We had a great time.

As a first time participant, may I suggest the following: 1. Make an announcement that dinner is served below deck and the ship will actually take off at 7:00...this way we know to dine and then go up top to view Charleston. 2. Offer cornbread and perhaps cobbler as everyone at our table mentioned not having dessert of some sort. 3. Enable your credit card machine to allow bartenders to get a tip from those of us whom order adult beverages. Thanks... I have been in the F&B business for many years, so if you'd like me to take any other excursions and critique, I would be happy to.

Very enjoyable trip around the harbor.

We really enjoyed the trip. The captain was the guide and he was very knowledgable about the area. He explained the historic sites in detail. He included some humor to keep things interesting. He explained about the ships in the harbor and the bridge. Very nice trip and absolutely no chance of getting seasick if anyone is worried.

Charlston from the harbor

We enjoyed the harbor tour, but wished there was more of the harbor to see. I would have liked to cruise around the battery and have seen more of the homes and historical area along the waterfront.

I enjoyed the tour, although I cannot say I recommend it enthusiastically. The narration was interesting and the boat was fairly comfortable. Refreshments were way over-priced but nice.

Bland Tour

I attended the Harbor Tour this past week. I was hosting a friend who had never been to Charleston before, though I have many times. I feel the tour could have been much better in terms of Charleston history. There were some points touched on as referred to the minimal sites that we passed, but overall not very interesting. The boat did not pass close enough to any of the points of interest to really get a good look. The only one that did present clearly was the Ravenal Bridge, and that was amazing. For the blandness of the tour, I would rate it a 2 star out of 5 stars.

Both tours are a must do

Both the harbor and plantation tours are worth seeing, The scenery is gorgeous and the tour guides are very informative and funny. The boat ride was so relaxing and we saw plenty of dolphins. Gotta do the plantation bus tour. Its about 20 mins long and the amazing row of oaks will forever be etched in my memory.
