loved the plantation, boat tour was "ok"

boat tour showed all the expected sights, and scenery was beautiful, ride was wonderful but captain's dialogue was very scripted and rather dull. overall, was great to get out on the water and get a breeze in the summer heat and humidity, but his seemingly memorized speech could use a bit of personality. Boone Hall plantation was wonderful. every tour guide was better than the last. our trolley tour was great, the talk on the slave street transitioned from a chat with the guide and our family to a presentation to a large group as more people joined in. the house tour was lovely, and the guide even helped my sister when she got overheated. however, the best part was the Gullah culture presentation in the last slave cabin. that woman was was their homemade ice cream! definitely recommend, whether you go as part of this combo or just alone!

Combo Tour

The harbor tour was fun. The carriage ride was excellent and definitely offered the most Charleston history. Our guide was wonderful, funny, and very well-informed. I would recommend it. We were there on the weekend and they were quite busy. Everyone was seated very tightly together so it was not comfortable. A weekday would probably be better.

I was slightly disappointed that the 9:30am tour did not go into more detail (or go past) regarding Rainbow Row and the Battery. Besides that, glad we went! And would recommend!

Worth the Time

Definitely would recommend the carriage ride. In fact, it was the high point of our time in Charleston. The Harbor Tour was only fair, and were it not for the money saved by booking the combination package, I'd consider it over-priced. Having the PA system malfunction for 20 minutes was only a minor nuisance, since the captain's descriptions were flat and lifeless.

Great way to see Charleston

We did the Harbor tour first then went straight to the carriage ride. It was a perfect way to get an overview of the Charleston area. Both guides were knowledgeable and humorous. We spent a total of 2.5 hours just touring and the time flew by. I would highly recommend doing either or both of these tours to anyone visiting or new to Charleston.

If you expect to always just buy a ticket and get on a tour, don't. They fill up fast and early. Pre-purchase your tickets and your day will be planned out for you...start early morning because this one is a fun filled day!

Buying the combination package danged us s significant amount of money. The tours were well done and very interesting. We got to see several aspects of Charleston on the different excursions. We were able to learn and see a lot of Charleston in a short amount of time.

Wife and I first trip to charleston this was the best way to start. Started with harbor tour then carriage ride, guides had great knowledge of history and related it to you that it made sense. Would recommend this to anyone.

Good overview of history of Charleston Harbor and current Charleston today. Captain, dolphins, and pelicans were entertaining. Good way to spend a beautiful day in Charleston on the water and a break from walking through the City.

Good deal, tours could have been better.

This is a good deal for someone truly interested in visiting the three destinations. The harbor tour was probably the best and most informative. The other tours seemed rushed, herd them in,herd them out but worth the trip nonetheless. We enjoyed it.

My wife and I visited the plantation as part of a double tour that included a harbor boat excursion. Both were amazing and exceeded our expectations! The plantation was both beautiful and historically interesting! You should definitely not miss this one!

Outstanding Views of an Outstanding City

The Sunset Blues & BBQ Cruise really delivered on the breathtaking sights of the Charleston harbor. We were in awe of everyting from begining to end and the weather couldn't have cooperated more. The sunset was panoramically visible and seeing the sights of the Charleston area was an experience to behold. The BBQ was OK and the band was pretty decent. We ended up on the very top deck of the riverboat because that's where the best views were. It would be nice to have some kind of narration as the boat made it's way around the harbor to explain some of the sights. After all, there's so much history to Charleston! All in all, we really enjoyed the cruise and the views. If the BBQ was stepped up a little bit, it would have really been a home run. But we were satsified and if nothing else recommend the cruise for the breathtaking views alone.
