Harbour Tour was great...Carriage ride not so much

While we loved the harbour tour, we cannot say the same for the carriage ride vendor. There were a WHOLE slew of issues related to poor customer service BUT the tour guide (Bob W) made up for the lack of customer service from staff!! I would recommend the following for your site and for the carriage ride vendor: 1. Have something on the website regarding parking. There's free parking but we didn't know about it and paid for parking. 2. Have something on the website regarding holiday tour schedules. 3. The vendor needs to better train their employees to handle issues. We pre-paid for our tour but was told that it's first come and first serve. If someone pre-pays, there should be some mechanism to schedule a tour - that is, make reservations. 4. The vendor needs to keep change on hand for customers who need to put change in the parking meters. Personally, I will never do a combo tour again. While it's convenient to purchase them's not worth the hassle of thinking because we had pre-paid we could just walk up to the carriage and take the tour. The entire ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth.

My wife, my son(9), and myself recently did the Carriage ride & Harbor tour combo. It was very entertaining and educational! I would recommend it to the first time visitor or a yearly visitor to the Charleston area!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The indoor seating is comfortable and arranged for easy viewing. A great way to get a perspective on the immense, dramatic harbor both historically and currently.

Pretty good, though this plantation isn't the best

I really appreciated the option to book all three *highly* desirable outings at the same time. The carriage ride is the BEST part. It's great. The harbour ride is alright...sorta boring, to be honest, but I'm from Seattle, so I'm used to more dramatic landscapes. The most interesting thing is seeing dolphins around the boat. Good if you've got time and feel like sitting around. The plantation was pretty disappointing for me, because I'm a preservationist: having a house built from 1936 felt very inauthentic, relative to the experience I was seeking. And no one told me until I got on the house tour! It seems like they try to avoid advertising the fact that, while it's "the most photographed plantation house in America," it's NOT really a plantation house! It was built by a Canadian who bought the place in the 20th century! Anyway, the grounds out there are pretty, so if you don't care if it's a real plantation house or not, you could go. But if you're looking for a real plantation property, perhaps look at one of the other options in the area. It's true that the ticket you buy here is all-inclusive for the whole plantation property: you don't have to buy different segments of tours and access. Depends on what you're looking for, if that sounds good to you or not.

We went to Charleston for our anniversary and took the Harbor tour and Carriage Ride and had a great time. The Captain of the harbor tour recognized our anniversary and congratulated us over the intercom.

A Snapshot view of Charleston, SC
Wed, Aug 20  11:30 AM dkcbears Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My husband and I were staying in Murrel's Inlet, SC and wanted to visit Charleston for the day. We found the Tri-Combo tour offered and felt it was a wonderful way to get a 'snapshot' view of Charleston in a day. We were thrilled over the purchase! We began our day at 9:30 am with a relaxing, yet informative carriage tour of part of the historic district, then we boarded the Carolina Bell at 11:30 for another fabulous informative cruise around the harbor, next we returned down to the market area to experience shopping in the city as well as enjoyed a delicious lunch at "Another Broken Egg Café", a café that had been pointed out to us on our carriage tour. Then we drove to Boone Hall Plantation where we enjoyed a variety of tours given by knowledgeable staff as well as explored the numerous beautiful gardens that the plantation had to offer. We ended our day at Boone Hall's Store where we were able to purchase many delightful treats made for the farm so we could share our experiences with our family. It was a memorable day filled with southern hospitality and charm! Charleston is a delightful city well worth exploring.

The captian was awesome! It wasn't a typical "boring tour", the captain was funny, yet it was all very informational. I wouldn't recommended this for smaller children because there were a couple of restless todlers. Otherwise, it was awesome!

Great way to spend the day.

We enjoyed our visit to both Boone Hall & the Charleston Harbor Tour. At Boone Hall, all activities (house tour, carriage tour, etc) are included in admission which is very reasonable (lower than any other plantation around). We were disappointed that house was not the original. The Charleston Harbor Tour was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Folks who purchase tickets from Zerve be aware that you need to go the Harbor first to get your passes if you can not print them yourself. I was told over the phone that it didn't matter where we went first & that we could give our code at the gate at Boone Hall with no problem. That was incorrect & the lady at the gate at Boone Hall, while she kept her voice pleasant, was NOT nice or helpful. I had to call back to Zerve & they had to call her boss. If we would have had our tickets, we could have avoided dealing with her.

Both the harbor tour and carriage tours were extremely interesting for their historical dialog.
