carriage ride & harbor tour

Unfortunately, it was cold & windy the day we took our trip. But on the Harbor Tour, we met some friendly people & met the Captain, he was excellent. The tour was fun. The carriage ride: We had a great guide, a young fellow born right there in Charleston, he was nice & funny, wish everyone could have him as their guide. But, again, it was very cold & we were not dressed for it. But the guide made it very interesting. Thanks for that. We actually liked Charleston more than New Orleans.

Enjoyed the narrative and boat ride. Took in a lot of the history of the area.

We had a great experience on both tours. I think we enjoyed the carriage ride more. The guide on the harbor tour was ridiculous though! He needs to stop over pronouncing things. He was trying to sound like an announcer! The carriage guide was great!!!

I would definitely recommend this! I took my boyfriend for his Birthday and we had a great time. It was very relaxing just being on the water and all the beautiful sights just added so much more to it. Also, make sure you watch for the dolpins, I got to see one but my boyfriend saw more! I would also recommed getting there early so you get a good seat on the boat.

Excellent tour of Charleston

While it was a little chilly on the upper deck (we moved down to the lower deck near the end of the tour), I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a fantastic view of Charleston and a great history lesson. There weren't any children on our tour, but it seems appropriate for families as well.

Nice way to see Charleston

We did the carriage ride first in the morning after getting our vouchers at the Harbor Tour office. The sign for the carriage tour office only faces forward from the front of the store and is next to another ride vendor. We stood in the wrong line and almost missed our carriage! It was a cool morning but they provided blankets to keep us warm. Each carriage is assigned a route at the time they depart, so you don't know where you will go ahead of time. I don't know if they can accommodate personal preferences. The harbor tour was lovely. We did that after lunch. It was quite windy and cool (53 degrees) so we enjoyed seeing the sights from the heated cabin below rather than up on deck. Parking was free and there were snacks and beverages available for purchase on the boat. It was a great way to see the highlights of Charleston and the tour narration was quite interesting.

It was a brisk day, but the carraige tour was delightful! Lots of interesting local lore, and tons of history! The cruise was also very informative---a relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Both were very low key.

I made reservations over the Internet for the Harbor Tour for myself and a friend. The acknowledgement was sent promptly, and when I arrived, the reservation was immediately at hand and recognized. I had made one reservation before, but it was with the Schooner Pride, and since that sailing was canceled (and I was informed of that right away), I was given a very prompt refund. Altogether, a very fine experience. Thanks, Sylvia Venable, PhD.

This tour was excellent because it did not take up a lot of your day, but you got to see tons of historical things about Charleston. The guide was full of knowledge about the city and willing to answer questions. It was great. Highly reccommended!

The Harbor Tour and carriage ride tour were both very enjoyable. It was fun to see the historic homes in Charleston and learn some of the history of the town. The tours were reasonably priced and we would both recommend either one to anyone who would like to sit back and relax and learn a little about Charleston.

I had three friends visit me from Buffalo, NY - we had only one full day of touring - they were here for a quick weekend - what a wonderful time we had - we had the boat tour - then walked to the carriage ride - saw people, places, the market etc. on our way. Had a great ride - loved both the boat and the carriage - saw the harbor and the city all in one day. tMy guests were ecstatic - it was easy to get the tickets on-line. they had our names when we arrived - no problem at all - easy to find - easy to get to - and fun, fun, fun,

Informative and fun

Our group of six adults very much enjoyed both the harbor cruise and carriage ride in Charleston. It was relaxing, educational and a real deal for the 29.50 charge per person. It was convenient to make reservations for the harbor cruise, but equally good to be flexible for the carriage ride at our own availability.

I purchased the tour for my parents(80+). Of course it rained and according to them Charleston has the worst street signs. So they had a hard time finding the harbour tour. They said they enjoyed it but wish the boat could have gotten closer to shore. They had to skip the buggy ride the next day(more rain). Pretty much the only two days of rain we've had since early spring. They did say good hotdog with their wine!
