Both the carriage driver and the boat captain offered great knowledge and stories about the buildings and other features as we passed by. |

The harbour tour and the carriage ride were great. I would highly recommend these tours. The plantation tour not so much. The harbour and carriage tours were fun and very informative. Great way to "see" Charleston. First time visitors - this is a must. We would do these two again. |

We enjoyed comfortable seating below deck. The view was great out of the windows, and we heard clearly all the interesting information from the captain. |

I purchased the tri combo tour. We enjoyed the plantation with the beautiful banyan trees and the trolley ride. The boat tour was great with dolphins all around jumping out of the water. The horse & buggy ride, we didn't enjoy. We were packed like sardines into a carriage. There were 22 of us and 1 horse. We were too close together to enjoy the ride and I felt bad for the horse. I would recommend the boat & plantation tour but if you want a horse & buggy ride, wait till you get there to pick the carriage & horse. They had carriages that carried 4 people and this is what I thought I was purchasing. Charleston is a beautiful town to tour. |

Both tours were ok. Carriage rides are limited by city so you go where your lottery allows you-which was not very informative for ours. Boat cruise was typical but you could see everything it went by fron looking off the dock. |

It was somewhat disappointing that we were not taken closer to shore. We had looked forward to viewing the battery. Going around the harbour and viewing at a distance was boring and the captain/tour guide had a very annoying delivery - like a stand-up comic. It was cool to see the bridge from below, up close and personal. I wish the rest of the cruise would have been like that. It was good to be able to go below and get out of the wind. |

POURING RAIN!

We went on the only day of our trip that POURED RAIN. As soon as we boarded it began drizzling. And then the sky opened up! We had to go downstairs, which is not nearly as fun as we had hoped. We didn't really get the entire advantage of the tour because we couldn't see as well and sometimes we were on the wrong side of the boat while the tour guide was talking about the other side. I'm really not a good boat person (I get seasick) but I took a Bonine and went anyways. It was just okay. But we went on many other tours and didn't find any of them fantastic at all. Including a carriage tour, a house tour and a culinary tour (which was the best of them). I wouldn't say don't do it because I think if the timing and temperature are perfect it would probably be more fun. |

Zerve made it so easy. We arranged to go on the combo boat/carriage tour. We didn't have to stand in line and Charleston was crowded the weekend we visited. We went on the boat tour first. The staff prepared our tickets for the carriage tour enthusiastically. When we arrived at the carriage tour, we were able to board a carriage immediately. Our guide was really informative. I am well familiar with Charleston: indeed, it is one of my favorite cities in the US. I have often visited Charleston. I don't always take tours, but decided to do so this time. It was so easy to book online and so easy when I arrived that I have decided that I will always use Zerve. |

My husband and I (along with our 4 year old daughter) took the Harbor Boat Tour and Carriage Ride. It was a beautiful day and these tours added so much enjoyment to our already fabulous vacation. The tour guides and other staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable of the area and it's history. They shared facts along with fun stories and quips that kept our attention. While o the carriage ride, our 4 year old thought that she was in a parade and proceeded to wave and shout hello to everyone we passed. It was truly a memory that we will hold onto fondly. Thank you! |

We were very dissapointed in the Harbour Tour. We had hoped to see more of Charleston from the water viewpoint. I had been to Charleston before on a visit and was anxious to see it "from the other side" to show my wife the stunning beauty of the city.
The first 10 minutes were great but then we went out to Fort Sumter and never really returned to the city itself. We are not American and although we appreciate the significance of the setting we felt far too much time was spent getting out there and coming back. When we returned it was to look at decomissioned ships, interesting but not a great visual treat.
However my wife and I loved the Boone Plantation visit including trolley and house tours The staff and guides were quite charming and at times amusing. .It was wonderful to get a sense of the 250 year history of the site.
All in all, we found that tour much more genuine and engaging. |
