The tour was good for the price. Do not take small kids on this tour.

Great Thing to do!

The Charleston Harbor Tour was a great thing to do while vacationing in Charleston. It takes you on a tour of the harbour and shows you the sites from the water while giving you history and background. You also might have the opportunity to see the dolphins swimming next to the boat. It is priced at a rate that makes it affordable for all. I definitely would recommend this to all vacationing in Charleston.

Nice relaxing, and informative trip

The narrator sounded like Jimmy Cagney, which was cool. The PA system did not carry enough volume for my taste. We sat at the rear of the boat and both my wife and I struggled to hear what was being said. Having been to Charleston several times over the years, we're fairly familiar with the history of the city so it was no big deal but if either of us had been first timers, it would have made the experience less enjoyable. The only othe issue was the woman "seated" in front of us who stood for the entire tour. Once my wife and I changed seats, she was fine and I didn't really care because I'm fairly tall and I didn't need to take pictures. Next time, well sit on the starboard side of the boat.

We had fun on the 4th of July tour. Get there early to get a good seat on top! The kids really enjoyed the boat, the bbq was tasty, and the cash bar provided sustenance for the parents. ;)

Too Many People

We were really excited about our fireworks cruise. When we got to the boat, even arriving early, there was a huge line to get on. It seemed like they really over booked. You couldn't move around anywhere, and we had to stand up for 3 hours. We had to stand by a trash can to fit on the top deck. The cruise itself was okay, but we wish there had been some kind of commentary as we were seeing. We were tourists and had no idea what we were looking at half the time - it was still pretty. The actual fireworks were amazing - our position by the trash can really worked out well. Overall, not terrible, but it would have been nice if they hadn't tried to cram so many people on board.

This is a great time for people of all ages...

you can either make it a big, fun party with friends or quality time with family. It's a little pricey; the July 4th fireworks tour was $32.50/head (tho it included our favorite Home Team BBQ) and drinks were high (which we expected) but worth it for a special occasion. As a local, it's one of those things you don't usually do but are glad you did.

My Mother and shared a wonderful memory in the very charming historical city of Charlestown, aka, Charleston. So many informative points of interests brought to our attention by the narration of a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. I would highly recommend the Harbor Tour for anyone visiting Charleston. It is 90 minutes of relaxation, entertainment and education combined. 2 Thumbs UP!

The whole family enjoyed the trip. It was a good length -90 minutes- and the guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining. The boat was comfortable and had both indoor and outdoor seating.

Captain was fantastic and provided a detailed (and interesting) description of the Charleston harbor. Was careful to point out the dolphins and how to view them. As a local from Charleston I was pleasantly surprised what a different view you get from the water. Would recommend the carriage ride as a complement to harbor tour. I do wish they had toured the boat around the front of the battery to view more of Downtown. Maybe that's a different tour.

What can I say, THE highlight of our trip to Charleston. 90 minutes of a boat ride, listening to local history, the occasional glimpse of a dolphin or two. Fun all around!

Charleston harbor tour

We loved the tour and narrative and the view. However, the speaker system on the lower level of the board was very uneven. Where we sat, we could hardly hear the narration. Some seats opened up as the guests moved to the top deck and we moved closer to the speaker. The new location was much better. However, a better public address system would have made the tour absolutely perfect. The view of the mansions/large homes just north of the Battery would have been better if the boat would have been closer to shore.
