Great tours!

The Harbor Tour and carriage ride tour were both very enjoyable. It was fun to see the historic homes in Charleston and learn some of the history of the town. The tours were reasonably priced and we would both recommend either one to anyone who would like to sit back and relax and learn a little about Charleston.

Our group of six adults very much enjoyed both the harbor cruise and carriage ride in Charleston. It was relaxing, educational and a real deal for the 29.50 charge per person. It was convenient to make reservations for the harbor cruise, but equally good to be flexible for the carriage ride at our own availability.

Tour guide gave a good talk but it would have been better had he mingled more with the passengers.

We have visited Charleston many times on day trips when vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Last year we moved to Myrtle Beach and recently spent the day in Charleston with our daughter and her family. We decided to return to Charleston for several days and take the harbor tour and the carriage ride. We found both rides to be very enjoyable and informative. The guides were very polite and friendly and very knowledgable of the area. We enjoyed these tours so much we expect to return again soon and will take these tours again. We highly recommend this service.

Charleston in a day

We purchased the Charleston Harbor Tour and Olde Towne Carriage Ride combo tour package. In one day, you can cover most of the sites on the historic peninsula with this great deal. The carriage ride gives a wonderful overview for first timers. We then explored the market and walked our way to lunch passing many of the old homes. After touring the Edmonston Alston house we tried to get back to the Maritime Center for our cruise. The one glitch - extremely limited availability of public transportation. Plan at least an hour ahead to make it to your cruise on time. The $4 all day trolley ticket is probably a great option.

What a great way to see Charleston!

As out-of-state visitors to Charleston for the first time, and with only one day to visit, we were thrilled to find this 90 minute cruise. It offered us an opportunity to see quite a bit of the area and hear the history of the homes, forts, etc. We also enjoyed the narrated carriage ride that toured the historical streets. The carriage driver was witty and fun and made the ride very enjoyable. The homes were so beautiful. I truly recommend this combo package to anyone with limited time to visit Charleston and/or who is unable to walk a great distance.

We really enjoyed our Harbor Tour and especially the carriage ride. It was rather hot the day of our Harbor Tour, but it was still fun. The carriage ride was great, and we were able to learn alot about Charleston.

Inefficient process - do not preorder

We regretted buying tickets in advance. Besides the service charge, it also said we needed to go to the Harbor tour first to get the ticket for the carriage tour. It recommended you do the carriage tour early (they open at 9:00) but when we went to pick up our tickets at 9:30 for the carriage tour, the Harbor tour office was not open. We returned at 10:00 (the stated opening time) but the girl opening the office did not get there or have the office set up for business until after 10:20. Those buying the tickets onsite (besides saving the service charge) also got their tickets immediately. She told us she had to call another office to confirm they had our payment even though I had my email confirmation. She never could get anyone at the main office so she told us we had to walk the two additional blocks to the harbor tour main office to get the carriage tour tickets. By the time we got there it was after 10:30 and we had wasted an hour trying to get tickets we had preordered. Staff at this office offered no apologies for us losing an hour of a very short weekend trip and said sometimes it happened that the other office didn't open until 10:30. The carriage tour was very good and we enjoyed our tour guide. The harbor tour narrator (male) had a very high pitched and VERY sing-songy voice which was very irritating. When he started talking, everyone on the front of the boat just looked at each other and kind of rolled their eyes. I did not enjoy this tour for that reason. I would not recommend this tour to others because of the possibility of having this narrator for an hour and a half. It would have been enjoyable had we had a different narrator.
