Charleston Harbor Tours

The carriage tour was interesting although the guide was not prepared for the questions asked by the group. He knew nothing about the beautiful flowers, trees and gardens that grace Charleston. Also, packing four adults into a row in the carriage is not comfortable. The harbor tour was delightful. We all really enjoyed it.

Tour was informative and scenic. Commentators tone sounded "canned".

My family traveled to Charleston for the first time. We ordered tickets the week before we arrived. We found the office easily on our first day to pick up our tickets. We had no problem redeeming our tickets at any of the three venues and we had a great time.

My friend and I truly enjoyed this tour. It was a wonderful opportunity to see Charleston from a new perspective. We were not always sure exactly what we were seeing. Even so, everything was delightful!

The leader of the tour was both entertaining & knowledgable in showing us points of interest. We stayed on the lower level, as it was a hot day and the upper decks were outside & had no shade. Would have been nice to stop at Ft Sumpter, but I guess that is another tour company.

We enjoyed the cruise. Staff was pleasant and knowlegable about the area. Boat was very clean. I get annoyed when people ask for tips -- I would rather pay a high ticket price than be reminded that someone worked to entertain us and is worthy of a tip.Yes, I left a tip.

We have been to Charleston, SC before but have never engaged in a harbor tour. In the past, we did take a carriage tour which we enjoyed. On this anniversary date, we elected to take the harbor tour and the additional carriage ride thereafter. The weather was uncharacteristically hot and high levels of humidity at the time of our visit. We specifically booked the Carolina Belle for the lower level which is air conditioned somewhat. That could stand some improvement! The tour was great and the captain of the boat very informative on history details. Prices on beverages were outlandish but we expected such. Four bucks for a cold beer is a bit hard to swallow.......both ways, I might add. We enjoyed the boat tour and especially the carriage ride afterward but we have some concerns about the tour routes. Fortunately, we drew the number 2 ride which we had never been on before. It was very entertaining but I would have disembarked the carriage if we had been forced to take a tour that we have been on in the past. This needs improvement when it comes to passenger service. Do not make visitors ride where they have ridden before. Your tour package is first rate but the brochures were printed at a lower price rate. I have some trouble with this. Usually I stand my ground and take issue with such antics but we had only two days for the visit. This matter needs correction with your advertisement department. Only one pedal cab was available when our tour group disembarked. That is not accommodating for visitors on your tours. Of course, I engaged that one "pedal cab" and sought his advice on local restaurants which was very successful. We were delivered to the door in minutes. You might say the pedal cab was the best service we received. Signage was poor for the maritime tour but our GPS device lead us right to it. Overall, we were very satisfied with the tours....please devote your attention to the areas that I have pointed out in this email. Thanks in advance for any improvement you may make. JD

THE CAPTAIN WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THE HISTORY OF THE CHARLESTON AREA. PRESENTATION WAS VERY COMPLETE.

Both the Carriage Ride and the Boat Tour were very informative and enjoyable!

The tours were great and the tour guides were very friendly and informative. I enjoyed them all but the harbour tour was the best.

wish that they went closer to the sites for another tour boat actually stopped at the sites. also wish that we couldve seen a dolphin but we didnt. soda was flat on the boat. get water recommend. but in all it was peaceful

The combination Harbor and Carriage tour was very good value. On both tours the guides we very knowledgeable and their presentations were very interesting and comprehensive. Free parking at both sites was a plus. A great way to see this historic city.

We really enjoyed the horbor tour and the carriage tour through Charleston.

Would recommend the package trio to everyone! Loved the boat and the carriage ride the best, their guides were the best!

We had a good time on the harbor tour, was very informative of the history of the harbor. But would recommend the Carriage tour FIRST and foremost it was the best... Had a great guide!! a.k.a. (Rebel) She knew all the history of the Downtown and then some. Really GREAT tour of the area, will take this tour again !!!!
