My wife and I really enjoyed the combination of the harbor cruise and Boone Hall Plantation. We only had a short time to spend in Charleston and this combo, along with some wandering around the historic district made it feel like we got a nice sense of the city and its surroundings, in a historical sense.
The harbor tour was really nice. The narrator was really knowledgeable and very entertaining/ enthusiastic. We learned quite a bit about Charleston's waterfront. Plus there were dolphins popping up all around us.
Speaking of dolphins they seemed to follow us on up to the Boone Hall Plantation as a pair swam by in the river as we stood at the plantation's dock house. Just before this we had enjoyed a lively and informative performance by Gullah Joe talking about Gullah culture something we'd not known of previously coming from about as far North as one can get in the US. The interactive tour of the 9 remaining slaves' quarters was well done, and though the main home is newer than some of the houses' I've lived in here in Minneapolis it was absolutely lovely, and incorporated pieces of the plantation's history very nicely serving as a good reference for the stories of the tour guide. |

Best Mac&Cheese!
Try to board as early as possible to get a seat near the rail. The only thing is once you go downstairs to eat, you loose your seat.
The one thing missing for me was a tour guide to point out and explain the points of interest. Of course, this would be hard to do and still enjoy the Blues.
For the price, I would do again and recommend to others. |

I was traveling with my 85 year old mother, who utilizes a walker. The carriage tour was perfectly set up - she entered the carriage from a loading dock with the assistance of the tour guide, so she did not need to step up. The guide, Mr Jackson, was terrific - funny and informative. We would definitely take this tour again.
The harbor tour was also informative, but the crew needs to be more aware of its passengers and their needs. Turns out there is covered handicapped seating on the right side of the ship's main level -- not mentioned to us, and by the time I found it out mid-tour, it was filled with teenage girls. My mom couldn't have walked there at that point anyway, given the movement of the ship, but she was left to sit in full sun (covered area is downstairs, which she could not access at all) for 1.5 hours on a day when heat index was 110 degrees. We also learned the side of the ship where we were seated was the side that 95% of the mentioned attractions were NOT on .... since the ship was less than half full, and most people went downstairs, why couldn't the crew tell us this when we boarded and were seated? |

An exceptional value. We completely enjoyed the tour which was very informative. The 1 1/2 hour time went by quickly. We were sorry that the tour didn't last longer. The Captain was very knowledgeable and entertaining. |

We loved the Charleston Harbor Tour! Great narration of the city history and the views are spectacular. Affordable and well worth the 90 minutes. I would do it again and highly recommend, especially for first time visitors. |

boat tour good intro to charleston and its history. captain incorporates light humor and trivia in his narrative.
Boone Hall was eye-opening and quite educational for those not raised in the South. Gullah presentation was excellent. |

Both tours were equally impressive. The guide on the carriage tour was very familiar with the city and had lots of interesting information to share. Our six year old became a little bored after about 40 minutes, but our 12 and 14 year old enjoyed it as much as we did. The harbor tour was great. We are able to move around the boat as we pleased, which was nice, considering it was about 90 plus degrees out. We saw several dolphins and were very entertained by the guide. Highly reccommended. |

We had an excellent time and the harbor and carriage tours were great. They were very informative for my significant other that's not from this state and even myself that grew up here. I look forward to booking more tours. |

Prior to my vacation in Charleston with my family which included 2 kids ages 6 & 7, I searched online for things to do and stumbled across this tour package. Not only was I very happy with the value I received for the tours we went on but the overall experience was as smooth as could be. I purchased and received my confirmation via e-mail. Upon arrival in Charleston I visited the Charleston Harbor Tours office which was conveniently located right downtown. The staff inside quickly acknowledged my confirmation and wrote up 3 seperate prepaid tickets for the Harbor Tour, Carriage Ride & Boone Hall Plantation. At each tour I simply presented the prepaid ticket and off we went, no hassle, no fuss. I'd definately use this service again. |

My husband and I arrived in Charleston to celebrate our anniversary. The Sunset Blues and BBQ cruise was relaxing and refreshing. The peaceful waters were divine. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious with bbq, chicken, cole slaw and macroni. The sweet tea was the best imaginable. I would recommend adding a dessert. The band was engaging and a delight to witness. I would highly recommend and plan to return. |

We had a lot of fun.. the cruise was calm, the food was good and the music was also very enjoyable. It was nice to hear some facts about the area as well as from the band singer. Everyone was very pleasant and most accomodating. I would reccomend a sunset cruise to anyone. The sunset over the water is amazing! |

Our Harbor tour was really nice, especially with the air conditioned lower deck.
The tour guide was great with lots of good historical data.
The Carriage tour on the other hand was a pain....especially when the carriage company crowded 16 full size adults 4 to a seat with temperatures in the 100's. I sat on a metal rail for more than an hour as we bumped through the heat. They should make allowances for hot weather. We were packed like sardines. Very uncomfortable. If you take this tour, don't let them stack you 4 to a seat unless you have 2 small kids. The guide was very good, but his good work was negated by the conditions mentioned above. If you can afford it, take the private carriage and avoid the tourist trap and sweat, or just go in the fall or Spring if you can. |
