Charleston Harbor Tours

My husband and I got married in Charleston 4 years ago and were back celebrating our anniversary. We did the harbor tour and loved it. It was full of information yet relaxing at the same time. It was great to see the town from a different perspective. We had taken a carriage ride the last time we were in town but it was with a different company. I wish I could remember our guides name because I would highly recommend him. He was so entertaining that he is what made this carriage tour so great. Not only was he full of facts about Charleston, but he had a great sense of humor and was a great story teller so it really got us into what ever story he was telling.

We first did the Harbor tour with Captain Dan at the helm. He was very informative and did not hesitate to answer any questions we had. He even played a little trivia with us; it was fun and we learned quite a bit in the process. Then came the carriage ride. Our guide/driver was simply amazing! We did not catch his name, ( although I'm sure that he told us ), but I do know that he was born and bred in Charleston and had a degree in history. He was pointing out things that I'm absolutely sure other less well educated guides would not have even been aware of - let alone mentioned. I know that some other tours we have been on stay strictly to the time limit but there was no sense of urgency on his part. It was a terrific learning experience and one that we will not soon forget. In my opinion, Harbor tours is absolutely the best and after the experience we had with these folks we would not even consider another tour company; We will definitely be back!

Wonderful way to save and explore Charleston. Great combination of land and sea. We enjoyed both tours and the price was outstanding!

Very interesting for History buffs. A little dry for kids.

We enjoyed all three tours. The harbor tour was very interesting. We learned about the history of the harbor and the pirates. The plantation was beautiful. The tour guide we had for the plantation house was very good. On the tour by carriage we learned about the history of that part of the city and about the style of the homes.

The plantation tour is very good. The woman who gave the Gullah talk was exceptionally good.

We had bought tickets a few days ahead, but did not realize that we needed to line up actually out on the dock so early. As a result, although we planned ahead, and arrived 15 mins. early as suggested, we had less than desirable seating available. Having to sit down below and on the left side of the boat offered poor views of what the comentary pointed out.. Get in line plenty early to be on the top deck , or at least the right hand side of the boat downstairs. If the boat could plan a route that gave both sides an opportunity to be the 'best side" for part of the trip, it would be better.

The harbor tour was fun and informative. We learned a lot about Charleston and the bay, we also saw dolphins quite often. The plantation tour was excellent also, it was interesting to see the architecture and learn of the living styles back in the earlier centuries. My wife and I both enjoyed the convenience of the tours and the price was well worth it. We both highly recommend the tours.

The crew was very friendly. The captain had a great speaking voice and didn't seem as though he was reading a script. Unfortunately, there is limited space on the deck for all passengers. it was a beautiful day and we weren't able to sit down. My children were bored (9 and 14) but the dolphins off the bow helped that.

The boat tour coupled with the carriage is a great deal and makes them both even better. We did them both the same day and that worked for us but some might want to do on one day after the other.

Nice relaxing tour with interesting historical stories. We have teenage children (15 and 17) who also enjoyed tour. Loved the Gilligan's Island theme song!

Wonderful Combo to let you experience the most of Charleston with a discounted price. Ordering your tickets ahead of time allow you to semi structure of your trip and no time standing in lines for tickets or trying to figure out what you want to.

The captain was hilarious, the crew was friendly, the drinks were cold, and the hour and a half trip was relaxing and very informative. As we just moved to the area it was good to get an idea of Charleston's history. However, it felt as if they overbooked the boat. Most likely though no one wanted to sit on the enclosed lower level and many opted to stand topside. In my opinion that should not be allowed as they blocked a lot of the view for those of us who arrived early enough to find seats on the upper level. Also, I read another review stating that the cruise was "one sided" and I can see where they get that from as almost everything pointed out is on the right side of the boat. But, given the route they take (following the coast) it is kind of understood. I recommend getting there early enough to be in the front of the line and sitting on the top in the front on the right side.

We had a great experience with the combo tickets. We received our e-tickets right away and once we arrived to our destination, we were checked right in and enjoyed our harbor tour and the carriage ride. I would definitely purchase my tickets this way again.
