Specific or Just a carage ride
Mon, Oct 29, 12   1:30 PM marleylea2 Female 50-59 Unspecified Group of Friends
tour is nonspecific. It is chosen by lottery what streets the carage can go on. So if you are looking to see something specific I guess you have to go on a private tour. It was not noted that the tours do not have to be done on the same day. We didn't go for the boat ride because it was to windy. But they did say the ticket last up to a year and that we can go another time.

Would not do this event again.

I was on the boat with a group of friends celebrating a retirement. The food (Home Team Barbeque) was great. The band(Shrimp City Slim) was ho hum initially, took a very long break, then finished up with some fantastic, get the folks dancing, music. The boat was disappointing. I have been on other harbor cruises so I have a reference point. The larger, lower level was windowed, however these windows were so cloudy that I could barely see out, certainly not enough to enjoy the scenery. The upper level was small, so when everyone tried to get up top it was a very tight fit. The staff was very nice.

The best of Blues and BBQ
Thu, Oct 25, 12   7:00 PM RMLehman Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
We won our tickets to this cruise as a prize for a project at work. Our whole group really enjoyed this cruise. We all live in Charleston, but appreciated the opportunity to see our city from the water- the views of the marina were fantastic! This was my first experience with Home Team BBQ, and I was not disappointed. We had to go back for seconds even though we were stuffed (I highly recommend the mac n cheese). :) The music was really great. No one got up and danced on our trip, but everyone was tapping their toes, and I fought the urge to be the first one. If you haven't gone on a Blues and BBQ tour, you are missing out! We will be back again.

Fun trip!

We took our grandson on this trip. It was a nice break after a walking tour during the morning. My grandson and I won snack tokens for answering a trivia question each. My only minor negative is that I think the boat could use a little sprucing up (the Carolina Belle), but maybe that is maintenance that is done on a scheduled time.

A Wonderful Day in Charleston
Sat, Oct 20, 12   1:30 PM cehunt Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
On our first trip to Charleston we decided to take a couple of tours to get a better understanding of the city. After some research we saw that the combo tour was highly rated and recommended. We did both tours on the same day and were extremely pleased with how the tours were organized. The combo tour really gave us a full experience of Charleston. It was worth every penny and we have already recommended it to several friends and family members.

Lots of Fun

My sisters, mother, and I really enjoyed the Murder Mystery Cruise. We had fun dressing up like flappers and interacting with the crowd. The actors made it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. The crowd was fun. The scenery from the cruise ship was beautiful. We got lots of great pictures. The location was close to our B&B easy to get to.

Not much for the price...
Fri, Oct 19, 12   7:00 PM glockwood Female 40-49 Local Family With Children
The actors and staff were great! However.....the production and accommodations were anything but. It was $30 per person age 12 and up. The only food on board was Lay's original potato chips and pretzels, at $1.00 per bag. Sodas were included in the price, and there was a cash bar. We were hoping for some other type of food, but settled on buying 6 bags of Lay's because we had no other choice. The "play" took place on the 2nd deck and was blocked to half of the crowd by the HUGE steel pillars in the middle of the boat! We couldn't see a darn thing the whole time! The audience had to STAND the entire time the performance was going on. And there was the problem of HEARING the performers. The crowd all around us was buzzing and talking (understandably) and there were NO microphones or sound system at all. We couldn't hear the play! There was lots of sitting around before the play began, and really nothing to do if you were not drinking alcohol. I really wouldn't recommend this event. I really don't blame it on the actors, they were entertaining, it's just that it isn't put together very well or thought out. Shouldn't they make sure everyone can SEE and HEAR the performance? That's kinda' important to me!!

Always a hit with out of town company
Fri, Oct 19, 12   11:30 AM Missytruitt Female 40-49 Combination Family Without Children
Everyone I've ever taken on the harbor tour has loved it. I always recommend it to anyone staying with me, or visiting from out of town. There's nothing like seeing Charleston from the water. Cruising past the U.S.S. Yorktown and beneath the new bridge never gets old, even for a local.

The combination Harbor and Carriage tour was very good value. On both tours the guides we very knowledgeable and their presentations were very interesting and comprehensive. Free parking at both sites was a plus. A great way to see this historic city.
