The tour started off with sunshine and cool breezes, but quickly changed to dark clouds and rain which put a bit of a damper on the tour. However, the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the historic sites and did a good job. On the other hand the rest of the staff was not very friendly. |

We regretted buying tickets in advance. Besides the service charge, it also said we needed to go to the Harbor tour first to get the ticket for the carriage tour. It recommended you do the carriage tour early (they open at 9:00) but when we went to pick up our tickets at 9:30 for the carriage tour, the Harbor tour office was not open. We returned at 10:00 (the stated opening time) but the girl opening the office did not get there or have the office set up for business until after 10:20. Those buying the tickets onsite (besides saving the service charge) also got their tickets immediately. She told us she had to call another office to confirm they had our payment even though I had my email confirmation. She never could get anyone at the main office so she told us we had to walk the two additional blocks to the harbor tour main office to get the carriage tour tickets. By the time we got there it was after 10:30 and we had wasted an hour trying to get tickets we had preordered. Staff at this office offered no apologies for us losing an hour of a very short weekend trip and said sometimes it happened that the other office didn't open until 10:30.
The carriage tour was very good and we enjoyed our tour guide. The harbor tour narrator (male) had a very high pitched and VERY sing-songy voice which was very irritating. When he started talking, everyone on the front of the boat just looked at each other and kind of rolled their eyes. I did not enjoy this tour for that reason. I would not recommend this tour to others because of the possibility of having this narrator for an hour and a half. It would have been enjoyable had we had a different narrator. |

The Charleston Harbor Tour and Carriage tour was well worth the price and time. I highly recommend it to anyone going to Charleston. Customer service at both tours were exemplary. By the way parking is free at the harbor tour-unheard of in Charleston. A MUST DO ACTIVITY!!! |

The narration of the harbor tour was unclear at times, but the boat ride was nice and kind of romantic anyway. The carriage ride was very nice, the narration was great, great history in this beautiful city. Not enough time to do all the things we wanted. |

We really enjoyed our Harbor Tour and especially the carriage ride. It was rather hot the day of our Harbor Tour, but it was still fun. The carriage ride was great, and we were able to learn alot about Charleston. |

I thought the harbor was well worth the money. Excellent speaker for the narration, easy to listen to and follow. The tour included all the highlights of the harbor and was very interesting. Some narrations can ramble on and you lose interest but this one was great!!
The carriage ride was great. The narration was spoken too fast and was hard to follow the narration because of it; otherwise the tour was great and I would reccommend it to anyone visiting Charleston. Thank you!! |

MY WIFE AN ANOTHER COUPLE WERE ON AN 11 DAY TOUR OF THE "OLD SOUTH". CHARLESTON WAS ONE OF THE BEST STOPS AND THIS HARBOR AND CARRAGE TOUR WAS THE CREAM OF THE CROP. THE HARBOR TOUR GAVE A GREAT OVERVIEW OF THE WHOLE AREA IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE BY CAR. IT WAS THE GUIDE ON THE CARRIAGE TOUR THAT MADE THAT TOUR AND OUR TRIP SO GREAT. SHE WAS A MANY GENERATION CHARLESTONIAN. SHE HELPED TRAIN THE HORSES, OUR HORSE WAS NAMED BOBBY. SHE KNEW PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY AND HER ACCENT AND CONVERSATIONS WITH THEM MADE THE TOUR VERY PERSONAL. DISCUSSING HER DISTANT RELATIVES MAE IT ALL THE MUCH BETTER. I AM A RETIRED COLLEGE HISTORY PROFESSOR AND HER KNOWLEDGE OF THE CITY AND IT PAST WERE RIGHT ON TARGET. |

Between the cruise and the carriage ride, we learned a lot about the history of Charleston(which wasn't on our agenda) in a laid back manner. Very fun and worthwhile. |

Everything was very enjoyable on the tour. The first carriage ride did not start until 9:35am and not 9:00am as we were told. Other than that, everything else was great. |

The words in the header describe my feelings. We boarded the boat earlier than we were supposed to, but were welcomed aboard. The staff treated everyone with respect and seemed genuinely glad that we had taken the cruise. |

The Harbor Tour was outstanding. The narrator/captain was a local and he provided very interesting commentary.
The Carriage Ride was a dissapointment. We were forced to wait in the carriage for 25 minutes while the City of Charleston decided which route to assign the operator. During this period, the narrator (a female from Seattle, I don' t remember her name) spent much of the time telling us what she didn't like about Charleston. After we actually got started, the tour and narration improved. I suppose I was really only interested in the history of the city, not the narrator's personal dislikes. |

As out-of-state visitors to Charleston for the first time, and with only one day to visit, we were thrilled to find this 90 minute cruise. It offered us an opportunity to see quite a bit of the area and hear the history of the homes, forts, etc. We also enjoyed the narrated carriage ride that toured the historical streets. The carriage driver was witty and fun and made the ride very enjoyable. The homes were so beautiful. I truly recommend this combo package to anyone with limited time to visit Charleston and/or who is unable to walk a great distance. |
