Haunts of Richmond has been offering walking ghost tours since May of 2005. Long time residents of Richmond, Virginia, Scott and Sandi Bergman performed extensive research on the history of downtown Richmond and its many legends and ghost stories in developing their "Haunts of Richmond" walk-through haunted attraction. It was this research and the requests of many of the haunted house guests that enabled the Bergmans to begin offering Richmond's only ongoing nighttime ghost tour.

In addition to post-bachelor's study of history at Virginia Commonwealth University, Sandi has served as a docent at Maymont House in Richmond for several years as well as developing the Shadows of Shockoe tour and serving as the Ghost Host at Haunts.

This tour runs from spring through mid-winter and will begin again in early April. Check back as April gets closer for the next available dates!

Activity Description
Walk among the shadow dwellers in the oldest and most haunted neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia!
Your Ghost Host will guide you on a moonlit exploration of the Shockoe Bottom, Shockoe Slip and Capitol Hill areas of Richmond, where over 400 years of history have produced an ample share of those caught between this world and the next.

Hear several tales of the mysterious, tragic and downright terrifying things that have led to numerous reports of paranormal activity in Virginia's capital city, including:

  • The Great Theatre Fire
  • Church Hill tunnel collapse
  • Civil War Hospitals
  • And many more...
You may even see or sense the presence of a spirit yourself as you make your way past the buildings and sites rumored to harbor the energy of those who experienced such trauma there many years ago.

This tour is appropriate for all ages. It lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, and involves a mildly strenuous uphill walk on paved city streets.
