Very Interesting Tour
Thu, Oct 29  7:30 PM glockg17 Male 50-59 Local Family Without Children
In the Spirit of Halloween we decided to take the tour. The stories were interesting and the history of the Church Hill / Shockoe Bottom was an added attraction. The tour guide was pleasant and the length/distance of the tour was sufficient to keep it interesting.

The tour people are all very nice and efficient. The weather was nice so it was a nice walk around a few blocks in old Richmond. The storytelling was enthusiastic and at a good volume but I did not find them very interesting. The best stop was the collapsed train tunnel. It was back off of the street and a little scary. Otherwise standing outside a McDonalds and telling a vague story of a confederate soldier was the norm. If the staff had given restaurant reviews as we passed by the various businesses I would have given this tour a gold star.

UNSAFE Ghost Walk!
Sat, Oct 24  9:00 PM NancyLoya Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
This is our first and last visit to the Shockhoe Bottom! It wasn't the ghosts from the past, but the dangers of the present that frightened us. We expected darkness, but not while walking in broken glass, over loose boards and mud holes, tall overgrown weeds, street gangs, and a four police car arrest! So glad we didn't bring children, bad enough entertaining out-of-town adult guests. Realize Richmond is rich with history, but this is a dangerous way of sharing it! Our walk, 24 Oct, 9:00 pm.

Great evening

The haunted tour was a lot of fun. Our guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. Everyone in my group that evening would be willing to attend another haunted tour or one of the other haunted attractions. It was a great pre-Halloween treat. I would also like to add the excellant costumer service I recieved from Zerve. Specifically Glen and Joe. I needed to get two last minute tickets and they worked very hard for me and came through. Thanks very much!!!

Ghost Walk

We did not attend due to inclement weather (i.e. cold and heavy drizzle) . My in-law who is 80, didn't feel like she should go. I was disappointed .

Thought it was great!

I really enjoyed the stories I didn't realize the history of the train tracks in church hill... One of the friends in my group is a history major and she was expecting not accurate history of Richmond but she was highly impressed with the accuracy of the tour. I do wish that there could have been more on the tour but I understand time restraints and the location of everything. I was a little disappointed that we could not see the gardens and couldn't go upstairs in the house I think that would have made the stories a little bit more "fun" sense we would have been upstairs while they were being told to us.

Inexperienced tour guide made for sad tour

I've been on Haunts of Richmond once before and thought it was really amazing so I was excited to bring my sisters along this time. However, out tour guide was so green that she did a terrible job telling even my favorite ghost stories and almost got us hit by a car on broad street. She spent the first forty-five minutes of the tour in the garden of the Poe Museum talking about Poe's life. And not interesting details of Poe's life, really mundane details that made me wonder the whole time if this was ever going to get better or if I should get my money back. It didn't get better. She spent the last five minutes of this talk sharing ghost stories about the actual building with us. Those stories were interesting, too bad they were not her focus. She was a very nice lady, but a terrible tour guide and with ticket prices set at $17 she was also a great disappointment. I know tour guides need to be trained at some point, but perhaps there needs to be a little more evaluation and a little more hand holding in the process.
